question on flow limitation
When it comes to statistics about flow limitations does the 99.5% reading actually mean anything to be concerned with? Or is it the 95% more important? I remember reading it’s the 95%, can you give a flow limitation reading where adjustments should be made to therapy? Thanks

RE: question on flow limitation
It is my understanding that it is the 95% figure and it should be no higher than 0.05. Of course a lower FL is always better. But as you are on the aircurve. There might be a differing figure.
But I have also heard that if you have some FL but your AHI is low. (My AHI was 21 on my sleep study and .7 and lower on therapy) Then why worry. My FL's since oct 25th at 95% range from 0.0 to .15. And my 99.5% ranged from 0.34 to 0.0 and average about .10 So as my pressure is 'comfortably' controlling my events with the FL level I have. I am not going to go down the rabbit trail chasing a zero FL. Most of my FL's are attributed to a recalcitrant right nostril that goes from clear as a bell to stuffy and maybe a bit of chin tuck. But I'm feeling a lot better. So why mess with success.

RE: question on flow limitation
95% flow limitations target is < 0.05. More information can be found at the following wiki link.

RE: question on flow limitation
We don't target the 99.5 percentile issues, and changed Oscar to use 99.5% in lieu of maximum which was completely meaningless. Consider that to be the statistical outlier that is corrected for startup and very unusual conditions.

RE: question on flow limitation
So to understand just target the 95% reading to be less than 0.5?

RE: question on flow limitation
Yes, but I see mine varying up to 0.07. So many members on this board post better stats than mine, but no need to compete.
