turning machine off or on when goinng to bathroom

turning machine off or on when goinng to bathroom
Hi just a quick question. I drive a bus and I am using the resmed s-9 and I need the reports from the machine every 6 months. The thing I am asking is when I have to get up in middle of the night is it better to turn machine off or just remove mask and let the machine keep running.
Just wondering if either one effects the data reports that my doctor needs.

Thanks ,
Scott

ruscottm, if you leave it running it will show up as leaks, I turn mine off the back on again. If you get the mask in a good position and you want to leave it on, you can and just pull the tube out then re put it back in when you get back into bed and turn it on again.

That is the exact scenario that got me in trouble . No one said a word . but on mine machine it sets an error . if you just take the mask off it will not count the hours after you put the mask back on . My machine showed that I was only at 50% compliance until I started shutting it off during outhouse trips . That was the only change I made to what I was doing . Compliance showed 80 % in just 3 weeks .

I just turn mine off and then back on when I get back. I have a full face mask and just unplug the hose at the mask. Max time it takes me is about three minutes. I just turn the machine back on and don't use a ramp up like I do at the beginning of the night. Based on the numbers, it appears it counts both times. (My therapy hours increase correctly as well as the operating hours).

hi scott

i just hit the the green power button and remove the hose from my mask, go to the toilet, reattach the hose and then it auto starts again, just shows up on reports and mask removed and i explain it was for toilet breaks etc when the reports are checked

Maybe it's a good idea for Resmed to develop a protected turn on/off button on the mask. Will make life easier for us.

You can enable Smart/Start so machine stop when you take mask off and start again when put the mask on but Smart/Start feature is not available on S9 Escape and s9 Escape Auto

OK, but the blow last for 3 seconds and this noise is hard enough to wake up my wife. I always try to search for the turn on/off button on the machine but it would be easier if there's a on/off button on the mask...but I guess there would be a safety concern?
