Waking up feeling as if I am breathing thru a straw

Waking up feeling as if I am breathing thru a straw
This morning, I woke up early, unable to go back to sleep, but still very tired.

I felt like breathing thru my nose felt like breathing thru a straw, like there's just not enough room for the pressurized air to enter my lungs.

This was a problem for several days in a row last week, but it seemed that I got better.

The only thing that seems to help is to prop up my head a bit.

Does anyone know what causes this or what to do about it?  I've been told it could be "allergies", but I had a five year course of allergy treatment.

What you have shared is not what we need.  We use data to  see what is going on and that data is supplied by OSCAR.  It is totally free to download and use from the top of the site.  You do need a SD card 2gb to 32gb to  be in the cpap when you sleep and then you can download the charts and someone will be happy to see what is wrong.

RE: Waking up feeling as if I am breathing thru a straw
Unfortunately, my symptoms have worsened.  It seems that I sleep fine for several hours, and then I suddenly wake up in a near panic feeling as if I can't breathe.

Last night, I woke up around 4:30, took several desperate, big breaths, and then pulled the mask off of my face.

I don't know why this is happening.  I'm attaching OSCAR graphs.

It's amazing how "normal" the data looks right up until it doesn't.

Just a thought, based on my experience only. The mask you are using relies on the nostrils being aligned with the “hole” in the silicone. If the mask should shift during sleep, the silicone can potentially block (or partially block) one nostril.

It is possible that the mask could slip and block my nostrils, but I have been using this same mask for quite a few years.

You need to post an entire night without zoom a d a left column. Please look in my signature to see the charts needed.

You may have swollen turbinates, welcome to the club. At night I use Flonase and that helps tremendously. But sometimes around 4 or 5 am I can feel that my nose clogging up again and easy breathing has become a struggle.

There are many factors affecting sleep.

You have started 8 threads, just stick to one thread and it will be easier to follow your changing needs and wants.

As SB and others have stated... post your OSCAR Reports in the requested format:
