initial aircurve pacewave setup - cexer - 06-12-2024

after a sad tale of 3 years i was able to get hold of a pacewave.
the airfit f20 mask should also arrive soon. is it the right decision ?

which initial settings would you recommend ? how to set them up ?
and how to sleep the fist time with such a device ?

would it take an empty vfat sd-card and automatically write files to it ?
are the settings lost if i exchange the sd-card ? so many questions..

no idea about ASV machine setup mate, hopefully someone more knowledgeable notices it.

settings are saved on the machine, the sd card is only for "reporting" data. some people never even use a sd card.

from what i read if it isn't formatted using FAT32 it will be reformatted by the machine.

So this is an ASV?

You'll probably want this to start:

ASV Auto mode

Default settings from there are
EPAP 4-15
PS 3-15

It should be pretty evident relatively fast if you'll need higher EPAP 1) as your base and 2) to treat Obstructive and Hypopnea, while PS will be a range required to be 5 minimum, and will kick in to increase inhale IPAP to combat Centrals.

yeah from my limited research it seems it is the name of the ASV machines in Europe.

Copy. The default might be decent enough to start, or alternate plan is to start EPAP Min about 5 or 6 depending on their last machine's setup.

thanks. guess i will start soft.

due to a delay, my mask could arrive before the heated tubing,
which leaves me with an unheated one.

which humidifier-setting would you recommend with an without heated tubing ?

It depends on your room atmosphere and personal preferences.

I liked manual humidity at least 4, but you'll want to balance humidity with non-heated hose ability to resist rainout, as in condensation in the hose and mask.

Try to have your machine somewhat lower than your mattress level so you can route the hose to travel uphill to your mask. It may need to have a hose holder to get it to stay in place.

could something happen to my machine,
if there is fluid coming back ?

RE: initial aircurve pacewave setup - SarcasticDave94 - 06-14-2024

It shouldn't. The water in the hose will return to the humidifier tub only.

Having seen a Pacewave ASV, it's the same as what I had just with the international Pacewave name.

I'm in my second week of my trial machine and after a couple of nights of fiddling with the settings I setted for the following, as anything higher felt like too much pressure. The figures may look low to some, but they're plenty high enough to succeed in zapping my centrals, with my overall AHI score now down to less than 0.5 each night.

EPAP 6 to 10.6
PS 3 to 8
