Yes. It is best to format it prior to using it in the AS11.

From my limited research I just bought another brand new Resmed AS10 auto-start instead of the Resmed AS11 auto-start this Black friday week.
Both are excellent machines but the AS 10 has a 380 ml water reservoir that I need in winter months in Northern Canada where we get very dry air as AS11 water 380 ml tank with it's new design has more chance of spillage from what I read(so slightly smaller capacity to avoid spillage) + the AS 10 climate line has a 90 degree elbow at the back where the AS11 does not . I could of bought both cpap units AS10 or AS 11 at same price but I know the A10 capabilities better and will go another 5 years until Resmed comes out with a newer model possibly by then.
My present A10 has a little life left in it until its 5 year term for replacement (11,500 hrs over 4 .33yrs at 6- 7 hrs per night or 1.3 yrs at 24hrs continuously used on it at the moment ) .
Black friday week I bought my 3rd AS10 auto-start and it will be used in August 2025 approximately or earlier if needed.
A11 has a soft mode & regular mode software where my present AS10 does not, soft mode would never be used by myself.
For myself the AS11 autostart slightly wins because of its proven features I enjoy and would miss alot!

Time as in run hours? Enter the clinical menu, About at the bottom has this.

You'll have to manually enter the setup identical to you old machine in clinical menu.

11 series enter clinical menu equals touch the screen to wake it, click hold both blue and purple squares 5 seconds, screen gets white background, in clinical.

10 series clinical menu access is click hold the Home button and big dial 5 seconds.

They seem to be similar. 10 series is still good, and maybe is cheaper.

You have to write down your settings from the clinical mode and just go to clinical settings on your new machine and adjust the new machine to your previous desired settings.(5-10 minutes task)
I tried to edit my last sentence on my post, but I got distracted while cooking and it timed out,  I think the AS10 autoset is sightly better for my needs and is a proven machine.
I checked the hrs timed on my first AS10 auto set machine and it had over 13,500 hrs logged, I use it for a back up when travelling or in the hospital. I like to have a back up machine for those purposes.
