RE: Abdulfakih - Therapy Thread - Sleeprider - 10-03-2024 You may still have some time to fully heal and realize the benefits of the surgery. It seems it has been less than two weeks since your surgery, and I would expect swelling and post-surgical inflammation to improve results in time. I think you need at least a month to fully realize the benefits. Id say for the most part I feel fine, I just get some mucus from time to time but I clean it with nasal sprays. However I have noticed one of my sides od the nose still feels a bit like from before surgery, so it could be swelling. I will wait and report back. Thank you for your help sleep rider, I honestly cant explain how thankfull I am to you and the other guys in this community, and I am sure other people like me in the community appreciate the knowledge you guys have. Thanks to all RE: Abdulfakih - Therapy Thread - Abdulfakih - 10-16-2024 Good afternoon guys, I am in a bad place right now and I have lost all hope. After the surgery, i started using CPAP again, however I started to notice that it was way more unconfortable for me, even having it on for a few hours would cause me to wakeup randomly at night, and overall it was just too unconfortable. I have stopped using CPAP since last week, and I am sleeping for longer periods (deep sleep). However, the headaches are back and overall i feel more tired than ever. I have reached a point of no hope and I am beyond tired RE: Abdulfakih - Therapy Thread - Abdulfakih - 10-17-2024 hey guys, this was me today after restarting the use of the CPAP; https://imgur.com/a/vmnupXB any ideas on what to do? RE: Abdulfakih - Therapy Thread - Jay51 - 10-17-2024 Your flow limitations are still high at 0.14 95th percentile in OSCAR. You are on fixed cpap. You could try EPR of 1, 2, and 3 and see if that decreases your flow limitations. You do have some CA's; and increasing EPR can cause more CA's in some people. You can try it and see what happens. Also, you still have too many H's IMO. There is a cluster of them also. Even though positional apnea techniques mainly help reduce OA clusters, you still might get some relief for all of your hypopneas by lowering your pillow height, possibly side sleeping instead of back sleeping, and also trying a soft cervical collar if you so choose. You stated that you are feeling hopeless. I have personally seen charts much worse than this one you posted (just to give you a word of encouragement). Thanks for the reply brother, yes many people have pointed out that I do indeed have lots of flow limitations. I think everyone has suggested me to get a bilevel. The reason why I feel hopeless is because I feel like I have exhausted all of my options. The only thing left to try is either DAM or Bilevel RE: Abdulfakih - Therapy Thread - Abdulfakih - 10-18-2024 Good morning guys, A fellow redditor suggested me to lower the pressure and increase EPR. These are my results https://imgur.com/a/wWxg7Qi RE: Abdulfakih - Therapy Thread - SarcasticDave94 - 10-18-2024 Just my opinion, the more sources for CPAP pointers you get, the more confused you'll be. You're probably going to want to stick with one main source. Since you've pretty much exhausted CPAP, maybe it's time to go VAuto bilevel. Your CA are still slightly elevated, as are the flow limits. I'm thinking you need to make a choice, treat CA or FL, because you're not going to be able to treat both with CPAP, nor with bilevel of any sort. Again VAuto might be your best compromise. RE: Abdulfakih - Therapy Thread - Abdulfakih - 10-19-2024 Good morning guys, I have regained hope lol So 2 days ago I ended up creating a post on reddit out of desperation. That started a chat with a fellow redditor that gave me a long explanation that sounded very similar to what you guys have been saying, but he also told me what should I do and a couple of things to try. I decided to trust him and honestly I think its leading somewhere. I decided to share it because I think my case is and was a bit complex, and maybe this can help anyone else that might be experiencing something similar This was me last night https://imgur.com/a/msHcVQI And this was the explanation he gave me: You have the dreaded mixed apnea of both OA and CA. OA needs more pressure to correct it, and CA needs less pressure to stop it. That said your CA is highest and hypopnea is next. I think you need to reduce max pressure to reduce CA frequency. And you need to turn EPR to full time as possibly as much as 3 cm of EPR to reduce hypopnea. But, it is probably best to do them one at at a time. So the first thing I would suggest is to reduce your pressure down to 9 cm and in further 1 cm steps done as necessary until you start to see Some OA. The objective is to try and get OA and CA about equal. After that I would suggest setting EPR to Full Time and then try it at 3 cm to see if that has any negative effect. It should reduce your hypopnea significantly. The only question would be what it does to CA. But do it step by step, and check back in and I will help the best I can. No need to include all those graphs. That first one you posted is good enough. I would just do the pressure reduction steps first. At some point it will cause some OA but as long as the total OA and CA is reducing, you are winning. Once you get OA and CA about equal then try the EPR again starting at 1 and then up in steps to see if it still causes CA to increase. RE: Abdulfakih - Therapy Thread - Abdulfakih - 10-24-2024 Hey guys, Long story short I am lost again. I followed the tips from the redditor and they worked for like 2 days and suddently something happened and it ruined everything. Not sure what happened. https://imgur.com/a/f2Slgcc this is the day where I was hopeful https://imgur.com/a/j7YevQ8 This is where I lost all hope (again) not sure whats going on with me man |
