RE: xirokx - Therapy Thread - xirokx - 11-02-2024 Here are the latest stats using the up-to-date settings, I do not think my SD card was seated correctly so lost a few days data.. The condensation issue inside the mask has returned by I still use Kitchen Towel inside the mask when I sleep to reduce the precipitation in the mask. This is an issue because I increased the humidity level. Dry mouth has stopped. At 11.6cm the air was coming out far too quickly and at 10.6cm its just manageable, if the mask becomes dislodged I get leaks and if not properly seated I get these strange air burping noises...Not sure if its possible to lower the pressure a bit more? I am sleeping through without waking up multiple times. However last few days, daytime sleepiness has returned. Let me know if you can recommend any further tweaks to optimise my sleep. Now we are in fall and my room is cooler than usual, this may have some impact on my cpap too. As always, thank you so much for helping me, I really appreciate it. RE: xirokx - Therapy Thread - G. Szabo - 11-02-2024 There are no significant differences in the statistics between your last APAP and your current CPAP. Hence, from this point on, you should adjust the setting according to your feelings. Because you became sleepy with this CPAP, you might want to return the APAP setting with the following minor tweak. Mode APAP Minimum pressure 10.6 cm Maximum pressure 13.0 cm EPR=1 If you want to reduce your CA events further, you might need to consider an AirCureve 10 instrument with the trigger sensitivity function. Ok I will revert back to these settings and measure how I feel and hope the daytime sleepiness goes... Will revert back in 3 days... Thanks so much RE: xirokx - Therapy Thread - xirokx - 11-02-2024 Also I am noticing my machine is using more water from the chamber since I increased humidity to 5...I take it that's normal? I am not filling past the mid way line in the chamber to reduce risk of rainout. Shall I reduce the humidity and temperature now we have reverted back to APAP as tube temp 26 and humidity 3 was working fine... Please clarify for me Thanks RE: xirokx - Therapy Thread - G. Szabo - 11-02-2024 I would increase the temperature instead of decreasing the humidity to avoid irritating your nose with dry air. It is expected to evaporate more water at higher humidity settings. The filling level has little, if any (between the medium and maximum levels), influence on the resulting humidity. RE: xirokx - Therapy Thread - xirokx - 11-03-2024 (11-02-2024, 10:51 AM)G. Thanks for that recommendation I reverted back to 26 tube temp and 3 humidity last night with the new settings and I woke up dry so will go back to 28 tube temp and 5 humidity as I found with those new levels of the apap I didn't wake up with cotton mouth. I do find the kitchen towel I line my mask with can be wet sometimes when I wake up due to condensation inside my mask. I have a face mask not a nasal air pillows... I thought if I filled water over the medium level it may cause rainout. Thanks for your ongoing support RE: xirokx - Therapy Thread - xirokx - 11-09-2024 Here are the latest results following the updated settings... I wake up around 7-8am but by 5pm I need to nap, I just cannot avoid it, its a new thing for me, is it because of the settings? I had to reduce min pressure from 11.6 to 10.6cm as I couldn't handle 11.6, maybe I can try 11 or something? Also increasing tube temp to 28 and humidity to 5 has mostly eradicated dry mouth. Thanks so much RE: xirokx - Therapy Thread - SeePak - 11-09-2024 xerox. Sorry to hear you still have problems. I have ideas. Will wait for you to finish with Szabo. Let me know and i will help. RE: xirokx - Therapy Thread - G. Szabo - 11-09-2024 It takes some time to feel comfortable with a new setting. Some large leaks influence your sleep. Try to adjust your mask. Your AHI has been decreasing lately. Your last three 95% mediums were 10.9, 11.24, and 10.88. It would be best to have a minimum pressure higher than the medium. I understand you have difficulties tolerating increased pressure, but your Hs need the pressure and the EPR. I suggest trying to set the minimum to 11.0 cm. Feel free to accept any other ideas, but I suggest sticking to one approach for a while to allow your body to accommodate and respond to the settings. I will also try increasing minimum to 11.0cm Thanks so much |
