If you weigh a lot, if you cut back food a lot you lose a lot of weight fast. I lost 30 pounds in 2 months last year because I could barely eat 800 calories a day (poor recovery from surgery). In answer to the OP, I ended up on cpap because of my weight loss. I likely didn't qualify for a cpap before, but the fast weight loss probably made everything flabby. I really went downhill after a 2nd surgery in January. I initially thought it was anemia, which is what I had last year, but I didn't feel weak, just tired. By the time I finally got to my appointment, I was taking naps twice a day. I start another weight loss bout for August & September - 1000-1200 calories. Easier to do in the Summer with all the fresh vegetables. RE: Help with weight losses effect on AHI - swwalden1 - 07-27-2015 I lost about 100 pounds several years ago from 280 down to 180. There was no change in my recommended BiPAP pressure. I have since gained about 40 pounds of the weight back--still no change in the pressure. |
