RE: resperonics 560 p sytem 1 a flex remstar auto - DocWils - 08-27-2015 Gern geschaen. I went for years without a heated hose and it was fine - I only switched to a heated hose when they gave me a new machine, and the difference for me was at most minor. Maybe if your room gets really cold at night, but if you are in a well heated house and you can keep the temp between 18 and 22 C in winter, there is no real need. My old pre-war flat (1911) can't keep up that heat level in winter, alas (and the landlord cuts the heat after midnight until 6 a.m.) so if there were a major difference, I would have felt it, but really it made a small difference for me only. RE: resperonics 560 p sytem 1 a flex remstar auto - Sleeprider - 08-27-2015 No warranty issues. This product is OEM for Respironics System One 60 Series. I'll disagree with Docwills this one time and say I have used a heated hose since 2008 and always enjoyed the slight extra warmth and no condensation. It's strictly a comfort thing, so it's entirely up to you. RE: resperonics 560 p sytem 1 a flex remstar auto - OpalRose - 08-27-2015 Just wanted to add that when I first got my machine, it was just a heated humidifier. I didn't think I would need the heated hose...boy was I wrong! Even though I used the preheat feature, I was breathing in very uncomfortable cool air, and I realize that some folk like that cool air, so it is a personal preference. Now if you decide you want the heated hose kit, it is sold for around $75.00 at most online vendors. All you do is switch the top cover of the humidifier, it has electrical connectors in the back which you plug into the humidifier. Then attach your heated hose and make sure the settings are correct. This kit comes with the 80watt power brick(which you also switch out.), heated hose, and new cover. You can't beat the price since a heated hose alone would cost at least $50.00. I ordered the 20 dollar sock that fits over the non heated hose which i have right now to try that first . But yes, i will try that option later as winter is coming and i do get dry mouth in the coming cold months ahead. Mine came wiith the heated hose because i insisted on it. Wifes doesnt have it. Its a 550 p. Cant add it to hers. Trust me just buy the heated hose kit. Worth every penny and then some. Got to get the wife a hybernite hose fot hers this winter. |
