I do not know about the best for cramps. It has been researched and the body picks up the magnesium from magnesium chloride more easily and more fully than any of the other magnesium compounds. Magnesium chloride, however is more difficult to deal with from the manufacturing and storage standpoints. Magnesium chloride picks up moisture very readily. In fact, if you put magnesium chloride and silica gel in a sealed airtight container together and leave it for a while you will find that the magnesium chloride will steal moisture from the silica gel. Just my little aside for this conversation.
