Air is supposed to be constantly coming out of the exhalation port, whether you're inhaling or exhaling. If it's not, the machine is not working properly.

I have had the Forma for a few months , As a matter of fact it's the only mask I have used . DME told me it was time to get a new one so I decided to try the Amara . I'll let you know how it works out tomorrow

After 2 nights it seem the Amara is a better mask . Because it it seals between my lip and chin the leaking from my whiskers is all but gone . The Forma has two silicone squares that rest on your forehead and they have left sore red marks . The Amara has a wider band that does the same . Feels way better .

When I roll over and get my face in the pillow the Amara stays in place where the Forma would be bumped out of position and leak into my eye .

Head gear is different . The Forma has a plastic catch which I like better , I can take it off and none of the adjustment is lost . Amara you have to fiddle with the velcro each time it go's on or off .

I had the DME order an Amara ffm for me today. what I like about it, other than it is blue, is that it is a gel mask, feels better than the Quattro FX to me, and the one I saw today, the headgear has a plastic catch and the Velcro part seems to be much better than the headgear from the Quattro FX. It is so funny that the DME only stocks the Quattro FX and all other masks have to be ordered. I asked about the Quattro Air and she said she could show me one but she couldn't open the package. Fat lot of good that was as the packaging was not see through. You cannot try on any of the masks at this DME so I decided to try the Amara since it comes with 2 different sizes of head gear and 4 sizes of the cushion (petite, small, medium and large). I was told by 2 different people that the Amara is a new mask. I am still anxious to try the F&P Simplus. Since the DME is 16 miles one way from where I live, I absolutely hate going there and there is more than one reason that I hate going there other than the distance!!

The Amara isn't that new....but the gel seal is new (at least according to my DME #2). I didn't have a chance to try one but from what I saw the gel seal looks like it is a better way to go. I can say the Forma left me wanting a bit. Great idea, but, IMHO, not the greatest execution.

Me50, if they have a Simplus in by the time my trial of the QA is done, I'll give it a whirl so I can provide some feedback on it (that and I want to see how it stacks up....I'm in between sizes on the QA).

Finally got the Amara gel ffm. First night, leaked so much I went back to my old mask. Watched video to make sure I was putting it on right and I was.

Second night, same thing so I went to the DME to make sure I was putting it on correctly. I was. DME gave me a small cushion, threw in an extra SD card and a case to put it in.

Third night, started out with the small cushion. 2 hours, as far as I know, all was okay. Then, 2 times, the tubing popped off of the mask and it was leaking like crazy. Went back to the medium cushion to see if I got better results. It kept leaking and the tubing popped off as well as the top head gear on the right side (where the forehead piece is). I woke up to my tubing on the floor and the machine running (not sure how long that was going on before I woke up).
