so you are taking a series of one hour naps?

you say nothing happens when you press the wheel button.  Does that mean the machine starts on it's own?  when it is plugged in?

he he.

Thank you for your post quiescence....

When I turn the wheel, I can move between all 4 of my screens. But when I press down on the wheel, nothing happens. So I plug the unit in when I want to use it. Then I un plug it in the morning. Well, that was unti I got this "service required" message and the unit just stoped working..... :-(

I was able to find (on this web site) the hardware service manual for my unit.  It is called "REMstar and BiPAP Sleep Therapy Device Service & Technical Reference Manual". I would post a URL directly to this software but I am unsure if this is proper or not.  But you can look in the software section, members only area, and find it.

It looks like to get any real information out of my unit, I need to buy and install what Philips calls a "Link Module" that you plug into your unit.  Then you run a cable from the link module to your computer (a old time DB9 serial cable that most modern computers do not support any more).  Then you log into a web site and down load the service software.  Then you run this software on your own PC.

It appears that end users can log onto this web site.  Can I post the URL?  You can find it in the above mentioned manual.  I will try to log in later on today to see if I can, and then report back.

With the link module in place, you can update your units software.  My unit is running software version 2.02.  I believe my unit (model 750P) was made in 2011. You can down load software updates from the web site.  It appears from my first reading of the hardware manual that once you have log in access, you can down load all the software you would want.  But again, most of it needs the link module to work.

The wheel is officially called "The UI Knob" in this hardware manual.  The manual makes no mention of repairing this knob.  The knob is part of the main system board which is officially called " The PCA".  If during testing trouble is found in the PCA, the manual gives you directions on how to replace the PCA (which the knob is connected to).  So I am kind of stuck.  When I press down on the wheel, nothing happens.  I might try removing the PCA and then re installing it.  It looks to be quite easy. The PCA sits on top of what is called  "The FLOW MANIFOLD".  This could be damaged and not responding when I press down on the wheel.  I will have to take the unit apart again to see.

The manual has a *HUGE* list of error codes.  I have no error codes on my machine but for the message "Service required".  That error message is not listed.

The manual lists part numbers for many different model numbers in this series of respironics units.  This is good information to have.

I will post an update after more hardware tinkering.

Be sure to read the error codes earlier in that thread http://www.apneaboard.com/forums/Thread-CPAP-Service-Required-Error-Codes-Inner-Workings-of-a-CPAP-machine There are also a lot of tips on potential sources for error.

Thank you for your post Sleeprider.  I just read the link.  Great info!!

I want to pull my SD card and read it.  Do you think ResScan or SleepyHead will let me do this?  I can install a SD card reader in my computer.

Thanks again for all your help.

I was looking on Amazon to see if I could find a replacement for my unit should I be unable to fix it.  I found a unit that looked like mine.  It is called  a DreamStation Auto BiPAP with humidifier and heated tube - DSX700T11.

I can't find a model number on my unit.  The best I can come up with is "Philips Respironics PR System One AUTO 750P".  It was made in 2011 I believe.  My unit looks like the photos on Amazon of the DSX700T11. On the bottom of my unit it says "IPX1", BiPap Auto ref 750P  Rev 01, 2XX  20110805.

Can someone tell me if the DSX700T11 is newer or older then my unit?  Before I moved to Ecuador my health care provider gave me a hand full of filters, extra masks and a ton of replacement stuff for my 750P.  I would like to be able to use the parts I have on hand.  I love my mask for example.

Can anyone help me with this?

Thanks

That unit is an excellent deal and I have pointed members to it many times. If you have a means of receiving goods form Amazon in the U.S. you should definitely go for it. It's an excellent machine, and 2-generations newer.

Sleeprider.... I can't get the model number to match with the picture. The model number in the amazon ad is DSX700T11, but it looks just like my machine. When I google the model number, I see a modern sleek, white smaller machine.....

Maybe I am missing something.....

It is fairly common that Amazon stock photos do not match up with the actual product. The DSX700T11 is the Dreamstation Auto BiPAP with heated hose and humidifier. The images are often not under control of the seller. You can send a question to the seller, but I would be very surprised if the system being sold is a System One 60 Series. I have seen this before.

from my enquiries, most don't international ship, so you need a reshipping agent, there are plenty to choose from.
