For what it's worth, I agree with Clay's self-assessment that he has largely had mouth leaks all along, or at least a strong propensity, and that it manifests when he gets a better quality of rest.  Unfortunately, that is counterproductive to the 'better quality of rest.'  So, for me, anything that might yank him back up out of the deeper cascade of sleep needs to be dealt with.  Arousals are as bad as CAs in the long run.
