RE: Resmed Hypoallergenic filter - OpalRose - 08-11-2020 Agree, I personally wouldn't use an AB filter on my machine. Now, back to the Hypoallergenic filters. I notice that one side is rough and one side is soft. Not that much of a difference by looking, but by feel. Is there a right way to put in machine? Softer side out or rougher side out? Anyone know? RE: Resmed Hypoallergenic filter - yankees123 - 08-11-2020 Hope someone answers that Opal Rose, always wondered that myself! RE: Resmed Hypoallergenic filter - SarcasticDave94 - 08-11-2020 I don't know if this is applicable but I recall soft side out rough in for some PAP I dealt with in the past or it was advising someone to do that. Now oldtimers doesn't let me remember. As for my ASV I don't recall the cheapie foam filter stuff being directional. RE: Resmed Hypoallergenic filter - OpalRose - 08-11-2020 Received a response from Supplier #1. They said it didn't matter which side went toward the machine. They did however admit that one side is rougher than the other. The RT I talked to at Lincare didn't even notice the difference and told me to just stick it in, it didn't matter. I think she was annoyed with me. RE: Resmed Hypoallergenic filter - Crimson Nape - 08-11-2020 I would speculate that the rougher side would have a higher probability of having loose fibers, thus it should face away from the CPAP intake. I'm just anal. RE: Resmed Hypoallergenic filter - OpalRose - 08-11-2020 Well, that makes more sense that the answers I received. RE: Resmed Hypoallergenic filter - SarcasticDave94 - 08-11-2020 Through a bit of unscientific experimentation, it has been determined the FLAT side should face the machine. |
