Some ResMed nasal masks suggest pillows setting.

You have an N30i? ResMed says Pillows setting.

OK where you show Humidity Level 2, to use the block plate, turn humidity to 0 or off.

RE: New machine - Jackofjr - 08-10-2021

Yes Dave I have done that but I had to refit the humidifier to be able to access those setting on the machine so all good now I think
How do you think the 2 different masks results compared , I do prefer the pillows mask rather than the nasal
I have a P30i pillows mask and a N20 nasal mask , I used the N20 last night for the first time

Thanks for all the quick replies

Which did you use on 10 August? That had a consistent but low leak. That leak pattern should be the better of the two I think. Alternate is if you could get the mask you like to have that leak pattern, again the OSCAR from 10 August. That's my opinion.

RE: New machine - Jackofjr - 08-10-2021

Ok thanks Dave , Aug 10  that was last night , I used the N20 mask the nasal with the foam cushion . I do have a silicon cushion for that mask I might try that .

RE: New machine - SarcasticDave94 - 08-10-2021

OK to me that looks like a better leak rate pattern. It had leaks continually, but it looked like it was manageable, consistent. If comfort was good, you may have a winning combo.

RE: New machine - Jackofjr - 08-11-2021

I wonder if that constant low leak with the N20 mask is because the seal is foam  , I will try the N20 with the silicon seal it might  be better . I will give it a try , might be interesting .

I'm starting to understand the leak rate graph a bit better now thanks to the help here . Most of the P30i leaks seem to line up with when Im awake or waking up , I think  Dont-know

RE: New machine - Jackofjr - 08-12-2021

G'day . I tried the N20 with the silicon seal last night , this looks pretty good to me , it shows no events except for one CA is that even possible

I'm still confused by the different leak graphs how does it compare to the other masks , I still forgot to try EPR but I did remember to change the mask setting from Pillows to Nasal , having the wrong mask setting would that make much difference , my other machine didn't have mask settings so Im not used to it .
If I was to go back to a fixed pressure would a small pressure increase be advised , I have been using a pressure of 9 for years before I got the new ResMed .

Yes this combo gets my vote as very good. If you can repeat that, all the better.

RE: New machine - Jackofjr - 08-12-2021

Thanks Dave
I will keep using that combo and see what Oscar shows , I do prefer the Pillows mask but will give the N20 a good go then might try the P30i again after a few nights
If it turns out the N20 is the best I will just stay with it .
The " Time over leak red line " what is a acceptable % before I should worry and need to fix something .

Regards Jacko

RE: New machine - SarcasticDave94 - 08-12-2021

I prefer to keep leaks as far from the redline of 24 as I can. With my F&P Vitera,I was able to get reasonable and repeatable leak rates that rarely hit 24, and were mostly at 10 or thereabouts. And that was with an ASV that ran EPAP 8-13, PS 3-15, IPAP 11-28.
