On page 21 of the Sept 2011 Version of the S9 Series Clinical Guide, it states Re changing the time that "before this change can be made, erase the compliance data - available under the Configuration menu".

In the Configuration Menu under Erase Data, it states: "Allows the clinician to erase all data stored in the unit and SD card (except for machine hours). Settings, date, and time are not affected."

I wasn't about to erase my data, So I decided to E-Mail the following Question (in red) to ResMed.
ResMed's answer follows (in bluish purple).

Message: What is the best procedure to use in changing the internal clock time in a ResMed S9 AutoSet (APAP) for the change to DST (Daylight Savings time in the USA)? I want to avoid messing up the data previously accumulated both in the machine and on the SD Card. Could you provide me with a link to an area on your website where this is discussed.

Thank you for contacting Resmed; there is no way for you to change the time. You would have to take it to your provider so they could do it. However, an hour difference is not going to affect your treatment or usage hrs. Hope this helps.

Yeah, right !

If I contacted my DME provider to ask them to change the time for me, they would have to ask me how to do it.

Why is a simple contraption such as a CPAP made to sound like rocket science?

I have Atomic Clocks in my house & office just not to have to deal with DST back & forth.

Why can't an expensive device such as a CPAP switch to DST automatically?

daylight saving began this morning and clocks have to be put forward one hour

I don,t bother abut changing the the times on my S9
I got the machine in the summer so its showing the right time for now

Here in the states, Daylight Savings Time ends on Sunday, November 4, 2012, at 2:00am.

They say we must... Fall back. oldman

That is the first hint that I needed access to the clinician menu.
I got my S9 the same weekend of Standard Time change and the wonderful staff who did their best to shield it so I couldn't see how to access the clinician menu when they adjested the pressure neglected to account for the time change.

I had to do it myself Cool
That was enough evidence for me that it does not "sense" the time but rather it has to be set at each time change. Just like ALMOST every other clock, cell phones and computers with modern operating systems notwithstanding. I wonder if it can detect leap years. I'll figure that out when the time comes.
Until this month I used a "dumb" device. It just blew air. Didn't keep time, stats, or anything so I never worried about it. Now it's new to me.

Cell phones use the cellular towers and network to get the time. Computers use the internet and internal software. "Atomic" clocks use the beacon in Colorado (and elsewhere I guess).

I would not want a machine that had access to the internet or in any way would give "them" a chance to access my machine. So I'll be content with changing the time manually my own self.

RE: DST and CPAP? Does the clock change? - cexer - 01-18-2025

there is an article about setting the time in the wiki.

the 10 series are set to local time and the 11 series to gmt.
is that still true ?

may i at least leave the winter time ?
then i would be one hour off in summer when i watch stuff in oscar, right ?
also in resscan and airview ?

(i reverted the edit after seeing that someone already answered
to the old version and posted it below)

The 10 allows setting to the local time. The 11 series allows setting of the timezone. The Philips is set to GMT at the factory.

so i leave the winter time ? i don't know how i would get a 10 series nowadays,
but the doctors wouldn't adjust the time twice a year, i guess.

regarding updates:
would the device already be confused and delete data if i do the fall fall-back
or is it only after starting a new session afterwards, so i would still have the chance to back up the data ?
how long is a time period for the resmed 10 series ? should i really wait half a day till i do the time-change ?

i'm referring to the wiki article about setting the time.
