RE: Oscar Data Interpretation - StrangerDanger - 06-17-2022 At this point your flow limitations are holding you back from a good sleep. You probably have allergies which constrict your nasal passages. Because of that you have trouble exhaling against the pressure. Turn EPR from 1 to 3 and you will sleep way better. RE: slam7241 (Therapy Thread) - OpalRose - 06-17-2022 slam7241, Your two threads have been merged and renamed. This will keep your history in one place and make it easier for those that are advising. RE: Oscar Data Interpretation - slam7241 - 06-17-2022 Thank you for you advise turning up the EPR from 1 to 3. I do have allergies and always have trouble breathing through my nose. That's why I use Corticoid steroid nose spray: Flonase or Nasalide: before going to bed. I will try the Exhale Pressure Relief to 3 and see if it will improve my exhale. RE: slam7241 (Therapy Thread) - Gideon - 06-17-2022 Just a hunch. Do you have a soft cervical collar available? Your zoomed breathing is extremely flow limited thus looking obstructive. The Cervical collar will straighten your neck and if I'm right result if a significant improvement. Also tell me about your pillows. Think 1 vs 2, flatter, less firm to prevent you from tucking your chin. RE: slam7241 (Therapy Thread) - slam7241 - 06-17-2022 I do not have a soft cervical collar, but I have been looking at them just yesterday on Amazon. Yes, I have been playing around with various pillows lately and is trying to lift my neck so as not to tuck my chin in while sleeping on 2 pillows. The one with the tiny bead may work better than the soft foam pillow which sink in too much and not be able to prop up the neck. Some suggest using a towel instead. Why do you say my flow meter looks obstructive when it did not register OA? RE: slam7241 (Therapy Thread) - Gideon - 06-17-2022 Low flow levels with fairly flat tops. Also the wiggles I. The "no flow" period are periodic meaning you are trying to breathe. 99.99% of the time the machine gets the CA call correct. I'm questioning it here. What you are attempting with the pillows says I'm more likely correct than wrong. I know it can be difficult but limit yourself to 1 pillow. And get a collar, though it may take a try or two to get the right fit. Read the soft cervical collar in my signature. This was subtle, I called it ideopathic central apnea initially. Thank You Apnea Board Forum - slam7241 - 06-18-2022 My 3rd day on Apnea Forum & I am feeling better already. I took the advises; change my EPR from 1 to 3 ; went from 2 pillows to 1 ; keep my setting for APAP at 11.0 / 7.8 like the night before; Felt better this morning with AHI 1.9 vs yesterday's AHI 3.57 vs day before yesterday AHI 8.68 . Can you explain what was happening between 4:30am to 6:30am ? I woke up this morning not too tired or out of breath (but like usual relief to take off the nose pillow & breath on my own while resting in bed for 10 - 15 min before getting out of bed.) Setting max pressure from 12 to 11 allows me to tolerate the pressure better & less chance of waking up, it seems) A single pillow allows me to straighten out my neck (try to jam pillow to back of neck as much as possible.. I placed order for neck brace from Amazon yesterday). What can I get from Tidal Volume? On attach3, does flow rate means I am taking short shallow breath about once every second? RE: slam7241 (Therapy Thread) - slam7241 - 06-18-2022 The threads should be reversed with the newest one on top. I have not received any response to my post 4 hours ago which is at the bottom of page 2. Please help. RE: slam7241 (Therapy Thread) - Crimson Nape - 06-18-2022 We all volunteer our time here.
