Problem solved.  I got a good telling off from ResMed in a "strongly worded email".

I bought the device from USA, living and using it in Asia.

Email said : No warranty, fear, fear, lecture, stern comment, you did this, you did that, warning, fear, fear, buy a new one from local retailer.

I'm already setup in Oscar and SleepHQ, so have access to data on both my laptop and cellphone.  

In fact, I'd prefer the device is never connected to anything ResMed as less chance of them playing around.  There is a modem in it, but I'll not be using that.

What exactly happens when someone needs to move country with a ResMed ? Need to buy a new device as it won't work with their app in the new country ? What if you move country more than once in a year, new device from the "local retailer" each time ? They could get 3 nice sales a year for the company balance sheet in that case there instead of only 1.

Nice business model.......very patient centric /s !
