RE: Another CPAP beginner seeking guidance. - sebirez - 08-10-2023 True. I'll consider lowering the max pressure a few if that trend continues. The nasal pillow arrived today so I'm going to use those with the same settings to see what happens. Thanks for the reply. RE: Another CPAP beginner seeking guidance. - sebirez - 08-13-2023 Here are a few night's of data using the nasal pillow mask. This mask feels best overall and produced the best results so far on the first night, but I had leaks the next two nights. Can anyone tell if that's the main problem I'm having? Also feel free to let me know if there's anything I can do to get more feedback on my data. As far as I know I followed the OSCAR chart organization wiki page but it's possible I missed something. RE: Another CPAP beginner seeking guidance. - Jay51 - 08-13-2023 The 1st chart looks great. The 2nd and 3rd have a lot of leaks. The large number of leaks could have contributed to increased CA's. Some people us a chinstrap to help keep their mouth closed and prevent leaks (with a nasal mask). Some use mouth tape. Do you feel the size of nasal cushion you currently have is correct? There is a slight possibility that either a larger or smaller size could improve your leaks. If you would like, you can upload maybe two or three (3 minute zoomed - in charts) of problem areas on your main charts for us to look at. Here is an article on improving leaks. Mask Primer RE: Another CPAP beginner seeking guidance. - sebirez - 08-13-2023 Hmm...I did order a chinstrap, so I'll try that tonight if I can remember where I put it. Right now I'm using the nasal pillow, which feels best. The first and second charts are with a large and the second is with medium. They both feel pretty good. I'll try another comparison tonight. I can upload some zoomed charts. I'm guessing just zoomed views of times I've hard large leaks? RE: Another CPAP beginner seeking guidance. - Jay51 - 08-14-2023 Yes. Upload one random one anytime you are sleeping (and no events). You can upload another one with leaks. Another one with a lot of events clustered together. RE: Another CPAP beginner seeking guidance. - sebirez - 08-15-2023 Here are three zoomed charts from the night of 8/12. [attachment=53195][attachment=53196][attachment=53197] RE: Another CPAP beginner seeking guidance. - sebirez - 08-15-2023 And three zoomed charts from 8/14. [attachment=53207][attachment=53208][attachment=53209] RE: Another CPAP beginner seeking guidance. - sebirez - 08-15-2023 And two from 8/13. Didn't have any leaks for some reason despite using the same mask in the same way. [attachment=53212][attachment=53213] RE: Another CPAP beginner seeking guidance. - Jay51 - 08-15-2023 Overall your charts look good. Keep the leaks down as low as possible. Flow limitations are good. Actually, if you could post a 3 minute zoom of a random spot when you are asleep that would be better. Just look at the time stamps on the bottom of the chart. The entire chart should be of only around 3 minutes. RE: Another CPAP beginner seeking guidance. - sebirez - 08-15-2023 Thanks. Yes, the main thing is figuring out how to minimize leaks.
