RE: Large Leaks - Opus1 - 11-20-2023

Thanks Jay,
I've tried all the tips that you've described, except for trying a different FFM.

So I just came back from a "refitting" with my DME. He would like to try me on the small version of the F20 Airfit.  Strapped it on in the office and pressure tested - OK (but that doesn't tell me much because the F30 Airfit medium pressure tests OK as well).

So we're going to give that a go.  He does not recommend the Airtouch, "too many rips and tears"

I took with me the last two weeks of OSCAR reports, so he could see the Large Leak vs. time (in session) plot.

BTW: He dismissed the OSCAR information saying that 'these unknown programmers are interpreting the resmed card data and applying their own algorithms to decide what constitutes a leak... very unreliable).  I felt THAT was a waste of time to argue.

But it does raise a concern, Is my sleep specialist seeing the actual plots of pressure vs. time or leak vs time or is he just seeing the summary data?  The sleep specialist is actually 2,000 miles away from my home.

RE: Large Leaks - Opus1 - 11-20-2023

Addendum:
Had previously tried the F30 Airfit (small).  That was not only leaking horribly, but also the noise from the leaks was extremely loud.  (Not a humming or farting, but the sound of air rushing out of the mask.

That's completely illogical. The same 'algorithms from unknown programmers' are shaping the therapy these machines deliver to all of us.

Maybe there was so much therapy data on OSCAR charts that the guy had never seen, so being unfamiliar he's not trusting it and making bogus excuses for not trusting it.

Interesting comment, I took printed Oscar reports into my Sleep Diagnostic Center, and when I tried to show them to the sleep therapists , they swung the computer around to show me they were looking at my sd card on OSCAR,  I have always felt as though their entire team was truly interested in me as an individual.

   I am lucky.

That's pretty good. They actually look at data. Seems like they're a keeper team.

Versus the dummy quacks I've had

I've run across tech that just don't want to know.

RE: Large Leaks - Opus1 - 11-20-2023

So I'm going to try the F20 Airfit -small- for several days*.

Just asking: Has anyone seen what the report that is generated by Resmed Airview?  He gave me a copy of what he said my doctor has available to him, and honestly it seems to give only the summary data that would typically be seen on the left panel of the OSCAR report. No plots of pressure, flow rate, etc.

Unicorn.... you said that your Dr uses OSCAR, was he able to do that because you gave him your SD card, or can we surmise that the SD card (contents) are transmitted daily to the doctor?

Just wondering.

*going to  be particularly interested if the 95%tile pressure goes up with leak rates under 24l/min

RE: Large Leaks - SarcasticDave94 - 11-20-2023

Data transfer to OSCAR would be via the SD card.

RE: Large Leaks - paulag1955 - 11-21-2023

So are you saying that your team can access the card in your machine via the internet? Or is the data just transmitted to them (which was my assumption).
