RE: FFM causing flaky, red skin - DOOM_NX - 10-13-2013 Hi, eviltim! Psoriasis can make the skin red and flaky, especially at the parts where rubbing occurs (for example, where the mask seals). I suffer from psoriasis and the moustache area is one of my stubborn spots. Pay a visit at a dermatologist RE: FFM causing flaky, red skin - eviltim - 10-13-2013 Whatever it is, it's now spread to the rest of my face. Lovely. I'm pretty sure it was the humidified or pressurized air that initially allowed it to go wild though, since it was limited to the area inside the mask seal at first. Off to the doc if zinc cream doesn't improve it. I really don't want to see a dermatologist, I have enough doctors in my life RE: FFM causing flaky, red skin - DOOM_NX - 10-13-2013 Dry skin makes psoriasis worse. It's essential that you keep it moisturized - which is against the rules for a tight mask seal. Get some Protopic ointment and see if it makes things better if you don't wanna see a doctor. RE: FFM causing flaky, red skin - eviltim - 10-14-2013 Having nothing else around the house yesterday I rubbed some undiluted Dr Bronners liquid soap all over my face and just let it sit there for awhile. Stung a bit but between that and using the nasal pillows for awhile, it is mostly gone today. I guess I will have to make this a daily ritual and see if that can stop it from happening when I use the FFM. |
