I too use this mask and sleep on my side without issue. I think the nasal pillow (with nubs but no gel in the new ones) works better than the nasal cushion with a slit for side sleeping for me. I also worried at first about the tube compression, but then what I realized is the problem was not the tube but displacement of the nasal hole/s to the side. One thing that helps is pull it away while at pressure to inflate the silicone and position again based on feeling the direct flow of air. I do that a few times a night. Another thing that helps is to rotate the whole frame slightly to one side or the other before laying my head down. I can't remember which direction works, I think rotating about 1/8" toward the pillow side so that when I lay on it, it lines up better. Finally I've found that with the pillow (the nubs), it works better if once it's pressurized I curve it up on the ends a little like a smile around my nose, and somehow it seems to stay that way.
However, one caveat is that the pillow-side nostril sometimes closes up some and if the other is stuffy, it can be problematic. In that case I tuck a pillow in front of me also so that I'm at an angle and the lower nostril gets more airflow.

It also helps to buy a pillow designed for mask users who sleep on their sides. It ensures that the mask remains in the correct position.

The mask frame is all one undivided pressure chamber to both nostrils. Even if it was made with a tube down one side only, both nostrils would receive equal pressure. I use a ResMed P30i which is similar in concept, and I'm a side sleeper. It works great and is super comfortable.
