Excellent. I have a really good relationship with my family doc. He knows that I go deep and do my homework and that he can trust me.

So, I'll be spending the next 10 weeks tweaking the rental APAP and gathering data.

Although, it looks like Supplier #2 can ship to Canada without a prescription. That could always be an option.

Another company that is shipping internationally is CPAPspecials. I you look up their website, realize nothing there is real; there is no storefront, Dr Ky Tucker is fictitious and his image is a stock image of a doctor, and the physical address does not contain this business. What is real, is they are a drop-ship company providing highly discounted equipment anywhere but the U.S. They require no prescriptions, pay no import taxes or duties but offer steep discounts and ship new new bilevel equipment based on members in AU, Asia, Canada and elsewhere. So they are not part of our Supplier List but you can take a look and see if that is an option for you in spite of the sketch.

Oh that's a great option as well since the machine is brand new. Nearly the same in CAD$ as a refurbished one.

Thanks for that.

I decided not to wait for the rental of the AirSense 11 to end.

I ordered an AirCurve 10 VAuto (with heated hose) from CPAPspecials. In any case, my insurance will still cover masks and supplies in the future.

If it turns out that an auto BiPAP is no better at helping me, then I'll just offer it to another Canadian member here at 70% of what I paid. That would make someone happy.

But I'm hopeful that it will help.

RE: Waking up 10+ times a night - Valtor - 03-29-2024

If I understand correctly. To emulate an APAP 8-14 EPR 3, I would need to set a VAuto at EPAP 5 IPAP Max 14 PS 3 right?

RE: Waking up 10+ times a night - Sleeprider - 03-29-2024

That is correct. The Aircurve 10 Vauto has a lot more tools beyond minimum/maximum pressure and PS. It's sure to dial you into the sweet spot.

By dropping min pressure from 11 to 9, the CAs are gone but the flow limitations are still what seems to be waking me up. It looks like we'll be able to work on those much more efficiently with the BiBAP. I'll leave the settings on the APAP as they are in the meantime.

Is the zoom I included showing that I was awake or it's something else?

RE: Waking up 10+ times a night - Sleeprider - 03-30-2024

Let's just build on that progress. I'm not going to say flow limits are not a problem, but you have gotten them to the lowest level possible with the tools at hand.

RE: Waking up 10+ times a night - Valtor - 04-02-2024

The "AutoSet For Her" algo seems to work better for me: "...designed to help prevent arousals. Slower pressure decays...". It's the pressure going down after events that I always thought was not good. So slower decays really helps.

I woke a bit less often. I had 0 OA because that algo responds much better to flow limitations, enough that it prevents OAs for me. And those CAs are not real events, it is just me turning around in bed (subconsciously holding my breath).

The AirCurve has been shipped, I should receive it in the next 7 business days. No "For Her" algo on that one, but the other advantages will dial me in much better in any case.

I'm only 4 months into this whole sleep apnea learning curve, so I am still amazed when you and some of the others on here can look at a mix of waveforms and deduce exactly what happened during those particular few seconds!

I was especially interested in the deduction above, because I read it just after studying my own charts for last night where the only event I had was an OA which looked 'suspicious' to me - andĀ seems to match perfectly what you describe. Am I right in thinking this too probably was not a real OA?
