Thanks for the replies. I really appreciate you all taking time to help me. Yeah I am determined to adapt to my CPAP. And so far I am keeping it on all night every night. I told the sleep technicians that I would adapt one way or another. I am so ready to get good sleep. I will have all my Oscar charts to show the doctor. I hope she is agreeable to ASV. I will keep you all posted on how it goes. If I hadn’t found this board I wouldn’t have had a clue. I have learned so much on here. I had just learned enough at the time to turn down a “brick” CPAP and insisted on a Resmed. They had prescribed a steady pressure of 9 with no EPR at all. Another user on here suggested I change to the current settings and that has helped a lot.

I forgot to ask. Is there a certain type or brand of a recording oximeter device?

When I needed to change machines from apap to bilevel I went to my regular doctor, not a pulmonary specialist, and explained why I needed the new machine.  I also told him the brand and model I wanted and He wrote the prescription right then, specifying the exact machine and I got it pretty quickly.  Sleeprider knows more about pap use than anyone, so trust anything he tells you.  I'm praying that you get your new machine very quickly!   Smile

Several pulse oximeters are compatible with Oscar. Here is a wiki on ones you should consider. https://www.apneaboard.com/wiki/index.php?title=Pulse_oximeters Contec and Wellue / Viatom are popular and inexpensive. I suggest you go to the Reviews forum and read other member's reviews of these oximeters https://www.apneaboard.com/forums/Forum-Other-Product-Reviews

Thank you all for the help. So I plan to ask the doctor for an AirCurve 10 ASV. If that is not correct please let me know.

You all on this board are so much help.

RE: Wjg's Therapy Thread - Sleeprider - 04-05-2024

That's the plan, however we can help you formulate that request if you wish.

RE: Wjg's Therapy Thread - wjg1 - 04-05-2024

I would very much like any help with that request. Thank you so much. I will probably also need help with the setting when I get the ASV machine.

At some point I want to see some zoomed images that are 3 to 4 minutes in length so we can see what the flow rate graph looks like in high resolution. Your full-night graphs show a lot of spikes in fow, both inspiratory and expiration, and learning more about that can help.

Here are last nights chart and 2 zoomed in areas. I had a leak issue during the night. I am getting a different pillow to hopfully help with that.

Thanks

The CA events look obstructive with flow limitations and some erratic breathing rates. The zoomed view showing them is very early on in therapy, and I can't verify sleep in that image. I do think bilevel pressure support would improve this. The image at 23:23 shows expiratory flow limitation or palatal prolapse, and this is probably the case in places where we see the cut-off expiratory flow like at 02:45 and a number of places after that. Based on this chart, I think I see a smoother respiration pattern when your pressure is at 11/8, than when you approach your minimum pressure of 9/6. You might want to look back over your charts and see if you see the same thing.
