Oscar data from last night - Soleil211 - 05-26-2024 Hello all!! I collected a bit of Oscar data last night. Not one of my better nights. Min 6, max 10, EPR off. Any assistance understanding it is much appreciated. RE: Oscar data from last night - PeaceLoveAndPizza - 05-26-2024 From your previous threads, you were using an ASV. Are you back to a standard APAP now? Regardless, what does one of your better nights look like? RE: Oscar data from last night - staceyburke - 05-26-2024 Is there any chance that these are positional apnea? If you drop your chin to your sternum do you have ANY problem breathing? Probably a stupid question but they are all grouped together then a complete hour with none then another large group.... RE: Soleil211 - ASV Therapy - Crimson Nape - 05-26-2024 Soleil211 - I have merged your 2 threads that are about your ASV therapy. I have renamed the thread to, "Soleil211 - ASV Therapy" to be more inclusive. Please use this thread for all your therapy related posts. Also, please update your profile to reflect your current equipment. - Red RE: Soleil211 - ASV Therapy - Soleil211 - 05-26-2024 I just received an ASV this week, but I’m working on the appropriate settings to be able to use it as it causes a great deal of discomfort in the settings that was instructed by my provider to use. I tried lowering the max settings considerably and it’s better, but maybe not ideal. I can use the cpap/apap without discomfort and I wanted to get Oscar data that might be helpful with either machine. A better night has the CA events in the 20’s or even in the 10’s, which for me is much better. I don’t believe the CA events are positional. I’m not certain what’s causing them, but I believe they might be neurological in origin because I get migraines. Based on the Oscar data, I’m guessing I might want to try to set the cpap to one pressure of ten. But I’m certainly looking for feedback from people who know more because I’m just guessing. RE: Soleil211 - ASV Therapy - Soleil211 - 05-26-2024 Crimson Nape, The reason that I began a different thread is because the Oscar data is not for an ASV, but a cpap. I have both and so far I’m unable to use the ASV to get data. RE: Soleil211 - ASV Therapy - PeaceLoveAndPizza - 05-26-2024 Based on your threads, you need an ASV, which should be the focus. Going back and forth between the ASV and an autoset I expect will be difficult given the differences in how they work. I am still learning about ASV so cannot offer much advise other than to get the pressure reduced to a comfortable level as a starting point. Between SleepRider and SarcasticDave94 you have two very knowledgeable lads on ASV, and both can help with that. No insult meant to others who understand ASV, just that getting too many differing opinions could be confusing at the moment. What I can offer is that for true CA you need to use an ASV or similar machine. A standard APAP just will not be able to be tweaked sufficiently to deal with it. Even a bilevel will not do much other than deal with a single instance of time as it cannot auto-adjust pressure support like an ASV. RE: Soleil211 - ASV Therapy - SarcasticDave94 - 05-26-2024 We're not really able to help guide the ASV settings until we see OSCAR charts from it. Your CPAP will be terrible, as demonstrated above, and most settings will not crossover. RE: Soleil211 - ASV Therapy - Soleil211 - 05-26-2024 Hi Dave, So just curious, why do you think I had an hour with no events? Have you seen this before? Btw, I’m not switching between machines. Like I explained, the ASV is causing discomfort, so I haven’t been able to use it so far. RE: Soleil211 - ASV Therapy - SarcasticDave94 - 05-26-2024 No events, as in that middle segment shown above, post 11, on the CPAP? Central Apnea are contrary devils that are consistently inconsistent. Here's a bunch and then they vanish for no rhyme or reason. This is assuming your CA are going to misbehave like mine. And with that chart, yes, this is what you'll be getting. The only way to tame these Central Apnea is the ASV. You've got to get on with the therapy. You'll need to find a way to get some time on the ASV to show us OSCAR charts so we can help steer this thing away from the ditches. Add in some details on how the therapy feels, direct, descriptive things not vague. Again, referencing the above OSCAR, you tolerated pressure 6-10 for 3 hours with terrific amounts of CA. I for one couldn't put up with that torture from the AutoSet. Try this just to get time on the ASV ASV Auto mode EPAP 5-8 PS 0-5 this is the lowest possible PS there is on the ASV, PS must span 5 cmH2O |
