RE: BiPAP ASV Settings check possible? - Sleeprider - 07-11-2024 Even File Explorer can do a quick format or FAT32 format on a SD card. RE: BiPAP ASV Settings check possible? - AfibApnea - 07-12-2024 Yes, although Win11 (and Win10) are not recognizing my card reader. I'll have to order a new one. (sigh) RE: BiPAP ASV Settings check possible? - AfibApnea - 07-12-2024 OK, done. Reformatted 1.8 GB FAT (I assume the card's large enough, cause, if SLEEPYHEAD memory serves me right, all the info is .txt) and installed cards in both machines. Then went to Philips Resp site and downloaded its manual. I’m going to use the PR Dreamstation (that’s the one I’ve been using recently) to accumulate data for OSCAR. How many nights of data should I accumulate before going further? Would a week be enough? RE: BiPAP ASV Settings check possible? - Crimson Nape - 07-12-2024 You are good to go! A Resmed series 10 uses a 2 to 32 GB SD card. - Red RE: BiPAP ASV Settings check possible? - AfibApnea - 07-12-2024 Installing OSCAR went flawlessly. I’m trying to prepare for using OSCAR. Though the PR Dreamstation is the unit I use here at home, it is possible that I may be using both machines before I’ve accumulated enough data to adequately inform you how my machines should now be adjusted. Consulting OSCAR supported machines - Apnea Board Wiki it seems OSCAR does support both my Dreamstation and ResMed AirCurve, but so many machine flavors are listed that I’m not even sure I know e-x-a-c-t-l-y which machines I have! I’m assuming that when it’s time to download the information from my two SD cards, it will as simple as bringing up OSCAR; “locking and inserting each of the two SD cards into my computer”; and clicking on OSCAR’s [CPAP Importer] for each of the cards. Is there anything I need to do, any machine settings I need to set, for example, before downloading their information into OSCAR in about a week? RE: BiPAP ASV Settings check possible? - Crimson Nape - 07-12-2024 You will need a profile for each brand of CPAP. Do not mix their data in one account. - Red RE: BiPAP ASV Settings check possible? - AfibApnea - 07-12-2024 I'm glad I brought this up ahead of time. What is a "brand of CPAP"? The CPAP-condition I have is the same (as the CPAP-condition I have). It's one that needs to be addressed with a BiPAP ASV machine. These are merely two machines. I assume they are, descriptively, the same though how they do what they do might be different because they are made by different manufacturers. I've brought up OSCAR; changed my single MyFirstName user profile to <MyFirstName>_PR and am about to create a second one (same information) titled <MyFirstName>_ResMed This seems to be problematic. 1) There's no obvious way to set up two profiles in OSCAR. 2) When I explore File/Preferences, OSCAR seems to show a bias for ResMed--it immediately responds with a window asking: "Will you be using a ResMed brand device" [NO] a) OSCAR's Preferences options make it very clear that Software (Breathing??) has progressed a great deal since Sleepyhead days. I have no idea what Preferences to set! I guess when the time comes I'll have to download each machine's information into its appropriate profile. Questions: a) How do I set up two profiles in OSCAR. b) What Preferences is it important I understand. c) What Preference settings do you recommend I set? d) Does having to use two profiles mess up anything? e) Why should I not mix the data from two machines in one profile? RE: BiPAP ASV Settings check possible? - Crimson Nape - 07-12-2024 Resmed and Philips are brands. Please read the information in the links in my signature for instructions for everything you need to know. The reason you don't mix brands is that each brand reports different parameters. Some parameters that match in name can report in a different scale range. - Red RE: BiPAP ASV Settings check possible? - AfibApnea - 07-13-2024 I searched through your signature link The Guide to Understanding OSCAR to find out what it had to say relating to the information a ResMed machine and a Philips Respironics machine record and present to OSCAR. I’m no expert and my search was not definitive nor complete. I was only trying to find out the differences between the information a ResMed machine and a PR machine provides and how it affects OSCAR reports. I did this by searching the full Guide for “ResMed”, and recording in a spreadsheet: 1) the category under discussion (i.e., Flow Rate, Periodic Breathing, Flow Limit, Pressure Increasing, Leak Rate, Snore, Zeo Data, and Tidal Volume) then searching the guide for “Philips”, filling in its contribution to already listed categories; adding any additional categories that show up; and adding that information to the spreadsheet. You’re right. There are some differences. This is what I found: [attachment=66949] So my questions now are: Questions: a) How do I set up two profiles in OSCAR. b) What Preferences is it important I understand. c) What Preference settings do you recommend I set? d) Does having to use two profiles mess up anything? e) Why should I not mix the data from two machines in one profile?
RE: BiPAP ASV Settings check possible? - SarcasticDave94 - 07-13-2024 The most important thing is you cannot mix these 2 brands on a single SD card. They must have separate cards. Second, make 2 different OSCAR profiles. |
