Last chart is looking good, glad for you and that you got the help Smile

RE: cpap since 2 years .tired - jeje - 07-15-2024

ty!!! Wink
i just woke up, with new datas similar to last one, maybe better:
- little leaks but longer
-I increased the pressure to 15. Apparently I only had 4 apneas at the end of my sleep with the pressure reaching 15.
-I only slept 6 hours
- yet I feel like I moved a lot last night; Besides, the cat did not stay with me on the bed.
- but the problem is that since I have the airfit F30, my head is spinning when I get up, like I'm in a fog more or less all day.
- I find that the flow of exhaled air at the base of the mask is very weak compared to dreamwear; I still have this suspicion of swallowing more co2.
-I feel like my exhalations are not as strong as I would like; besides, I don't understand how I can exhale correctly with blocked airways and a machine that blows air
-note that a week ago, I damaged the base of the tube while cleaning it; when trying to remove the brush, I forced a little on the tube; I relaxed it at the base; I'm going to order another one.
Thank you for your help.
nb: I realize, while talking at parties with friends, that many people are subject to apnea, much more than the statistics.
Have a good day

hi friends;
i tried 15 since 2 monthes, but it seems i am more tired (maybe the leaks).
one night i woke up with my mouth big open, so i tried different chin strap :
the mask + chin strap= stressed

i am tired to fight with the machine; My nose is narrow, and I often have nasal congestion. I may also have a deviation...

i don't know what to do...

Hi, the are 2 files : one  at 12,8 and one at 15 max.
many leaks
this morning i was wet
I tried several types of adjustments: very tight, not tight; if I squeeze the top of my nose, it leaks through my chin; if I squeeze my chin too much, I feel like it pulls my jaw back; maybe I don't know how to use it. I tried the resmed chin strap: it lacks straps to make it hold better (during the night I lose it); I bought a chin strap on Amazon: it's too tight. This evening I will add scratches so that it better suits my 63cm head. the last capture is made without a chin guard. maybe this F30 is too small??? I have a small nose.

It looks like it is the wrong mask, size, or headgear. Full-face masks should not be put on too tightly as the silicone needs to inflate to seal against your face. Chinstraps do not work well for many as they pull the chin back causing more problems than they solve. Soft cervical collars help by keeping the neck straight and using the weight of the head to help keep the mouth closed, but have to be properly fit. Mouth tape is another option for nasal pillows/masks to keep the mouth closed.

Overall your charts are fine, but the leaks will be the ongoing problem to solve. The best advice I can give is to start with basics and watch some YouTube videos on mask fitting and see if it helps. For whatever mask you decide to try, see if you can get a fit pack with multiple mask sizes so you can try them out. If your insurance covers it, that is great. But if not, there is no choice but out-of-pocket costs.

No quick and simple answer to this stuff.

Have you tried a pillows mask (narinaire), and taping your mouth (10cms sparadrap)?

I am a mouth breather also. I uses a Breveda with diffuseur,  and a Resmed minimalist chin strap. Stops all mouth leakage.

Hi,
Quote:Have you tried a pillows mask (narinaire), and taping your mouth (10cms sparadrap)?

i had got a phillips dreamwear; i never tried a taping in my mouth because i was afraid to close it. i think i 've got a problem with my nose.when I do a nose wash, the water flows very difficult. I think that's why at one point I open my mouth.
i'll try tomorrow to see if there are good results.

yesterday night i bought a nasal dilatator; with it my nose respiration is better. but leaks are here again.

i will prefer to loosened but the results were bad or similar

i agree; but i wasn't sure. i 'll stop with this

i am gonna try

i watched many videos Sad
in France the treatment is free; but I requested the F30 5 months ago; I can't go overboard by asking them for a new one. there is no mask trial kit (which is a shame). so, if I have to get a new mask, I have to buy it, which is not a problem if the mask works, because I am tired every day and I drag myself. But how to find the right mask???

i've got dreamwear pillow, full mask, and f30. dreamwear full mask is for people with plate head.f30 was better, but it leaks like the two others.

If my nose doesn't let in enough air because it's congested or it's too narrow, does that make me open my mouth? I think so. I fall asleep very easily, but the first problems often occur after two hours of treatment. So let's say I have my nose enlarged by surgery , would there be any improvement? Honestly, I don't really want to have surgery.
have a good day

hello, here is the first result with the neck brace. lots of leaks (I think it's the mask + maybe I move around a lot at night). I also changed the size of the mask to M instead of S (because my nose was small I bought a Small)

there are lots of leaks but no apnea: is this because he couldn't measure with the leaks? Or do I try to sleep with the neck brace without the CPAP? I see that there is still some snoring...the cat seems to have spent a rather peaceful night; She usually slaps me on the lips when she's worried.

With that many leaks the machine likely could not measure anything, so discount the results.

There is some basic issues with the mask/headgear that must be going on. It seems the F30 may not be the mask for you. The simplest choice would be a full-face mask that covers both your nose and mouth, or you could try nasal pillow with mouth tape or a soft cervical collar.

From the ongoing issues with sealing the mask, a ResMed F20, ResMed Quattro, or Fisher&Paykel Simplus may be a better solution for you. If you want to try the nasal pillows like the ResMed P10 or Fisher&Paykel Brevida, then you will need mouth tape and possibly a soft cervical collar. Folks can help with the mouth taping proper setup if interested.
