Are you saying you used the Humidex the AirSense 11?  If you did, I don't know how you were able to do that.  I'm not surprised that you didn't have a good experience.

You should just use the F20 with a normal attachment to your AirSense with the slimline or climate line and the AirSense humidification tank.

On the F20 mask, the Humidex is designed to attach on the inside of the mask. The hose and adapter do not attach to the Humidex.

When I purchased the F20 mask, I asked my sleep care provider how I could have some humidity when traveling with my Airsense 11 when no water was available. She recommended the F20 and the Humidex and the hose adapter. I then decided that I would just go ahead and get the Airmini and not bother traveling with the Airsense 11.

UPDATE:

I tried using my Airmini with my F&P mask that I use on my Airsense 11 and my AHI was down to the same 1.0 that it is on the Airsense 11. So I am getting the same results using the same mask on both machines.

For some reason, the F20 mask with the Humidex is giving me much higher AHI. I will try to figure out why. Any thoughts?
