To a machine such as the Icon it would see both kinds of Apnea events the same......a cessation of breathing for more than ten seconds, it just can't tell what kind of apnea it is, but it still calls an apnea an apnea whether it's central or obstructive. Is there any advantage with seeing them separated out in the data? RE: Different Results with new APAP - trailrider - 06-06-2015 Hey Gadgit, Reminder that no xPAP machine can tell you if you are awake or asleep. So if you are awake and move, cough, turn, hold your breath, talk, sigh, kiss your partner, tell the dog to move, etc, the machine may think you are having apnea disturbances. Just remember this when you read your numbers the next day. And I pulled my mask down and blocked it while talking to my husband. The machine kept raising the pressure, thinking it was an obstructive apnea. I got a huge blast of air when I went to put it back on! |
