Well, checked the Philips patient portal for status today. I hadn't looked at it in a few months. I registered right after the recall was announced for a DS1 and DS Go, both new in 2020. Portal page for the DS1 showed a perplexing ** for status. Just for fun, checked my Fedex app and it shows that I am getting a delivery today from Respironics. The Portal page for the DS Go indicates the same status for the past 6 months or so and states in effect that I will received a new device from my DME as soon as it is available. Since I bought this on line though a supplier, not sure how that is supposed to work.

Found a package yesterday from Philips when I got home: a recertified Dreamstation*. This one has 8000 hours, compared to 4200 on the unit I had. Both were manufactured in 2018. I used it for about two hours today and it's quiet and worked with no problems. I'm happy since I still have a bunch of extra supplies for it. It took 18 months from registering my Dreamstation and 16 days from choosing the "Auto-adjusting CPAP" option to getting the replacement unit. Like other people, I got both the email about the unit shipping and the unit itself on the same day. I'll go back to using my AirSense 11 tonight, but now I have a spare machine.

Still waiting for (and dreading) word from Philips on what's going to happen with my DS Go. I paid for it out of pocket and don't want a DS2 as a replacement since it fails as a travel unit in at least a couple of areas (external power supply, must use distilled water). Ideally, I want them to send me a recertified DS Go because I've been really happy with it. Since I knew I'd still be using my DS Go quite a lot, I removed the foam from it quite some time ago by opening up the chamber where the foam is then epoxying it back together. It's a little more noisy, but far from being enough to keep me awake.

*I guess I'm in the minority in that I don't have a problem with using a refurbished/recertified unit. I'm confident everything in the airway has been thoroughly cleaned, disinfected, sterilized, etc. or is brand-new.

Well it took a long time to get my replacement. Just showed up in the mail today. It's a refurbished DS1 with 4500 machine hours which I don't think matters if they replaced the blower as that's the only real wear part.

I'm a happy camper as I have had my unit since late 2017 and if had 14600 hours on it. Seems like I should be able to get many more years out of this unit and it saved me a good chuck of change.

Going to take apart my old unit clean it up swap the foam less tray they sell online and if I can find a new blower for a decent price swap it out and have a nice travel/backup unit. Fat chance in hell there getting it back from me and honestly I think anyone that ended up with it would be sad to see 14600 hours on the machine even though it doesn't matter if they replaced the blower.

Received Two New DS2 replacement machines for my Two recalled system one machines.  The Foam on the 560 that was purchased new in 2016 was in very good shape when I removed it. The foam in the older 550 was intact when removed but showed signs of deterioration on one corner.  Both of these system ones received very little use and had less that 2000 hours on them. I had purchased a lightly used Resmed Autoset 10  shortly after the system ones and have well over 22,000 on it now.

I guess delaying was a good thing...

I registered my System One in August of 2021.  I bought a new ResMed Series 11 AutoSet through a local medical supply company.  Paid cash.  Today I received a long email from Phillips

We are still missing your device therapy prescription. Because we are unable to fulfill your order without a prescription, we wanted to inform you of the option to receive a replacement device with automatic adjusted settings, more commonly known as Auto-adjusting CPAP. By choosing this option, we can ship you a replacement device without your prescription settings, which may help us process your order more efficiently.

Went into the "patient portal" and updated my choice.  Will probably just use this replacement machine as my travel unit as it will keep me from having to tear down my bedroom unit any time I travel.   I'm glad I didn't choose the "give me 25 bucks for my junk machine" option.

Machine 2 of 3 has been replaced.

My System One, purchased in August 2011, was replaced with a new Dreamstation 2 (non-heated-tubing) today (2023-02-08).  The new machine was manufactured on 2022-12-21.

It took FedEx three tries to deliver this package, and even though it was shipped at the same time as my DS1 replacement, it got here 4 days later.

Still in the land of "I don't know" is the replacement for the Dreamstation Go. My preference would be for a NEW DS Go. If Philips decides not to produce new ones, then my next preference would be for me to be able to send it in to Philips for "refurbishment/renewal".

All three (3) machines were registered on the day the recall opened (2021-06-17). About 2-3 weeks ago I opted for the "give me an APAP" choice.

I registered my System One on August 25th, 2001. I have been going through the rigmarole with Philips Respironics since then. My sleep specialist physician left private practice and went to work with the VA. Another sleep specialist physician in his office took over my records and Philips Respironics has been trying to get my Rx settings from him with no luck. I called and left numerous messages with the physician and zero response. I finally received an email from Philips Respironics on 2/7 that contained the following information:

"We are still missing your device therapy prescription. Because we are unable to fulfill your order without a prescription, we wanted to inform you of the option to receive a replacement device with automatic adjusted settings, more commonly known as Auto-adjusting CPAP. I went to the web portal and opted in to have a replacement device with automatic adjusted settings sent to me. So I am waiting to receive the replacement device.

DS1 BiPAP autoASV replacement -

Responding to a Jan. 13, 2023 email from AdaptHealth, Nashville TN, I went to my local AEROCARE store in Memphis TN and picked up a replacement DS1 BiPAP autoASV machine at no charge.  The humidifier section was not replaced. I gave up my old de-foamed ASV.

Being curious, earlier I had called the Philips Recall Hot Line (877-907-7508) and was told that  I could not purchase my old ASV as a backup machine, which didn't surprise me.

Blower hours on the replacement machine showed zero.  (My old ASV had about 9800 blower hours, about three years of machine use.) The AEROCARE store lady said that the case might be refurbished, but all the insides were brand new.  I asked her if I would get a new two-year warranty with the new unit, and she said "supposedly" I would.  Settings on my new machine were restored using the cell modem by the lady in the store.

My old ASV was labelled DSX900T11C, 2020-02-06 REV00.  The new machine is labelled DXS900S11F, 2022-09-09 REV15.

The new ASV seems to me to have have a smoother transition as it changes my BiPAP pressures between 4.0 and 6.0 cm H20. Otherwise I can't detect any differences between the old and new machines.

OSCAR pulled in the data for the new machine with no problems.

I guess I've got 20,000 hours or more of reliable use in this new unit.  Hopefully I may be able to buy a replacement blower motor if that happens to go bad somewhere around 20,000 hours of use.

THIS is the way.

Seriously. I know that Philips received MY info from my doctor because he showed me a copy of the email READ receipt. Yet I continued to get "we ain't got your info" emails and notices in the portal.

Once the auto-pap option was available, Philips shipped two devices out to me within 3 weeks.

RE: RECALL THREAD-- IMPORTANT PHILIPS DREAMSTATION & SYSTEM ONE USERS - SleepinAZ - 02-09-2023

So just as a follow up to my previous post on Feb 6 about a pending delivery from Phillips, FedEx finally delivered my replacement device for my DS-1. Phillips sent me another DS-1 as a replacement with zero hours. My previous DS-1 was provided to me by the VA in 2020 and only has 1200 hours on it as I bought a Resmed Aircurve 10 V-Auto out of pocket at the beginning of this debacle. Like several here, still awaiting determination on what Philips is going to do for my DS-Go that was bought out of pocket in 2020 and has limited hours on it, maybe 200, so almost new.
