There is a booklet explaining the conditions under which you need to notify the DVLA that the hospital should have provided as notification is not always required. I think that they have tightened the requirements after the incident with the dust cart driver in Glasgow killing several people last year but I notified them and was still allowed to drive until (and after) they confirmed that my sleep disorder was controlled. I also notified my insurance and they were happy provided the DVLA were prepared to not restrict my licence and it has not made any difference to the premium.

Thanks that is interesting, I was never given the booklet.
Were it not for the incompetence and faffing around of the local NHS, I would probably have been back on the road months ago.
I really despise those damned people.
