Only the S9's data is written to the card. No SH data is stored on it. One warning, the S9 is very finicky about the data that's stored on the SD card. If you are using Windows 7 or newer, make sure that you "Write Protect" the SD card prior to inserting it into the card reader. Windows 7 or newer will try to write System Volume Information all external memory devices when connected.
I have a file that helps in disabling (or re-enabling) this feature in Windows so you won't have a "Oops!".

The SD card can be used by both programs, and actually both programs can run at the same time.
I wasn't meaning to come down hard on your daily use of data, but it can become an obsession with some people. It has it's place in being an active participant and in control of your own therapy. It is important to be aware of trends and to be able to sort out what is important, and what's not. You have a very good machine and are making it work for you effectively. I know that wasn't so easy in your case, so congrats and well-done. Eventually you can be a curmudgeon like me and only look every two weeks.

So I decided to try the other version of SH. I have tried to update it several times and keep getting this error message. I have no idea what it means or what can be done to fix it.

0.9.8-1 didn't have a functioning updater. You would need to download it from the link above and install it.

The version you are using, open or broken GL and profle are all displayed at the upper-leftt corner of the application next to Bob (the sheep). The current version is SleepyHead v1.0.0-beta-2.
