As we speak, I'm stitching a siliconized beauty headband onto P10 headgear strap. I should end up with a siliconized headgear straps, It's gonna cost about $1.50.

If it's permissible, and it works, I'll post before and after photos.

Anything non-commercial, and non pornographic (family friendly) is permissible. There may be execptions, but I can't come up with one for a CPAP mask strap.   Dont-know

Home made straps made by Sailors are NOT permitted.

I didn't make new mask straps or alter them. I wrapped them with a girly headband. They are now siliconized. Photos tomorrow.

So, let's see if I can get this to work.

1. Get headbands with silicon on one side. At least 1" wide; I used 1" and it fitted exactly. Many brands. You get them in a beauty/hairdo section of the store. Photo.
Caution #1. I have the 4Her model; it must be 1/2" wide.  I don't know if the unisex model is the same width.
Caution #2. If your mask strap is tight already, this project is not recommended, since it will make the strap marginally tighter.

2. Cut off a 6" piece.

3. Fold the piece in half lengthwise around the mask strap. Silicon on the outside.

4. Overstitch the two long edges of the headband so they meet. You will end up with a tube around the mask strap. Try not to stitch through the mask strap (so it can still stretch freely), except maybe in a couple of spots, just to keep the fix more or less in the middle of the mask strap.

5. Voilà, EZ PZ.

6. In my photo, the pink stripes are the silicon. The twist was not on purpose, and makes no difference to the project.

7. If I've left out a step and am past the editing window for the post, I'll use re-quote and embellish.

Nice. Fashionable. You can move them now to the suppliers list.

Yes. No more mask fiddle. No more mask leaks. Better than I even imagined.

Now, if only I could keep my mouth shut, since that's evidently where leakage is coming from at this point.

Have you tried the Tongue Suck Technique?

Place your tongue to the roof of your mouth with tip of tongue right behind front teeth.
Then lightly suck upwards.  The tongue will find a nice resting place there, and at the same time the back of the tongue creates a seal at the back of your throat, so that if you open your mouth while sleeping, no air will escape.

This takes practice, and many of us have mastered this.  Once you have conquered this technique, you can even talk (or at least say a few words) with no air escaping.

At the same time, using a “soft” cervical collar helps keep the mouth/jaw from dropping open at night.

Now I remember why I was doing the cyclone-mouth procedure all night Idea Idea Idea : I forgot the cervical collar.

OOOOOhhhhhhhh. Next task: tart up the cervical collar. It's kinda blah looking. I'm thinking I could cover it in a buff.
