I'm also new here so take my advice with a large grain of salt.

Is it possible that it'd be easier to acclimate if he set the machine in CPAP mode at a fixed, comfortable pressure, and then increased it slightly on a weekly basis until he finds something that works well for him?

I've recently increased my lower pressure and lower my upper pressure so the range is quite narrower. I feel that's working better than before. I will try plain cpap mode next weekend so that if I have a lousy night I can sleep in.

That's what I've been doing as well.

Somebody needs to invent a term for weekend CPAPers...

WePAPers?
EndPAPers?
Hmmm.

Hmmm.

7th day adventurists, if it's not too politically incorrect.
