RE: Hi from new member - Gideon - 11-01-2017 Try using the CPAP while awake, just to get used to it, it may help. By that I mean watch TV, Read a book, play a video game. Purpose being to show your body that this is normal and help it adapt. You can try the P10, it is virtually silent because of how it vents. Fred RE: Hi from new member - Shin Ryoku - 11-01-2017 Thanks, Fred. I will try your advice about using while awake, and I've ordered a P10 to try it out. Also ordered a ResMed Airsense 10 Auto. I tried a soft cervical collar last night and found it very uncomfortable. I have neck issues when extending my neck too much. I've ordered another soft cervical collar, this time one for people with short necks, to see if I can tolerate that. Hopefully all of this will be worth it! RE: Hi from new member - ajack - 11-01-2017 Is the chart with the collar? it still looks like a chin tuck or other event. yes you will get use to the pressure, I have up to 25cm It may be an idea to fix the clusters first, then see what pressures you need. you may still need a bit more. RE: Hi from new member - Shin Ryoku - 11-01-2017 I think I had taken the collar off prior to those measurements. Good to know that I can get used to the pressure! RE: Hi from new member - ajack - 11-01-2017 there are lots of pillows that support the neck and let the head fall back. Lets get the collar on for now and get a one night with it. It will show if this is the right path. RE: Hi from new member - Shin Ryoku - 11-01-2017 When the new collar comes, I will try it. This other collar put my head too far back. I know from experience that it can lead to weeks of severe neck pain if I leave it like that. RE: Hi from new member - Shin Ryoku - 11-02-2017 Here's a look at last night. I don't think I feel asleep until almost 10pm, so those early OAs were false positives while awake. I woke up around 12:30am, took off the mask, changed the settings to CPAP 12 with flex off and fell back asleep around 2am. This was also my first night without a chin strap, and I can see that there were a few more leaks. RE: Hi from new member - Shin Ryoku - 11-03-2017 I went with a straight CPAP 12 last night again. This time with a Resmed P10 mask and a different pillow which keeps my neck more extended. Couldn't tolerate the smaller soft cervical collar either. It exacerbates a disc problem I have. I love how quiet the P10 mask is. I'm going to stick with it. The lower AHI is encouraging, but I don't feel rested. I did wake up quite often through the night, which is probably the reason. My Airsense 10 for her is due for delivery on Tuesday, and I'll try going back to APAP when that arrives. RE: Hi from new member - ajack - 11-03-2017 you may just have to raise the pressure till you get adequate treatment and factor in the clusters. I think you will be happier with the resmed. RE: Hi from new member - Shin Ryoku - 11-03-2017 I'll try 14 tonight and see how it goes. Thanks! |
