Go to the suppliers list and check out #32 on the list.  The will ship for free over $99.00 and they are very clear that no prescription is required.  Further, this is tagged as a Canadian site.

Cheers.

Maggie,

I just looked at their FAQs and they are located in Ontario.  That being said they are not an authorised ADP member if that helps.

Cheers

I don't understand why you say it's not a CPAP machine.  I've never had an APAP machine and don't think I want to go with something that might be even more complicated for me to set up myself - which I have learned to do with my old CPAP.

Could you please elucidate a little and also advise whether the ResMed AirSense 10 for Her with HumidAir AutoSet Machine would be the same thing.  I do find I get dry without the moisture and my old machine has just about given up delivering any which is the main reason I want to replace it - aside from its age.  I've checked the total hours and see I'm well beyond what is considered a lifetime for these machines so I'm not exactly rushing into this.

I don't think I need the entire package, case, hoses, nose buds and all as I can buy any of those through my local supplier. and, in any case, I already have them.  Will my present hose fitting fit the new machine, do you think?  I can ask the supplier but you might already know the answer.

Elwoodpdowd has very kindly pointed me in the direction of a supplier in Ontario that doesn't require a prescription who will deliver to my door and, if I get the right responses from them about delivery, payment etc., I  think I'll go with them - #32 on the list of suppliers.

How do they manage to avoid the prescription nonsense? If they choose to opt out of the ADP why don't all of the suppliers?  I don't get it at all and I didn't know membership in ADP was optional.   They could all be selling far more machines than they do if they didn't insist on having a prescription.  Am I the only person with better things to do with my life than hang around doctors offices and sleep clinics?  Surely not!

I've just sent a reply to a message from Bonjour which links to yours in a way - if you would kindly take a look I shan't need to repeat it all here!  Smile   I have supplier  #32 up on my other monitor and am investigating it and I'm grateful to have one that's approved by the Board, is in Canada, not a million miles away, free shipping on big orders, and doesn't require a Rx.  If I had had the energy to check out all the suppliers myself, you wouldn't have needed to do it for me.  You can hardly believe how very grateful I am.  This was turning into an absolute nightmare but thanks to all the wonderful people here, I'm actually beginning to see light at the end of this particular tunnel.   Good-work everyone!  Elder-help is more important than you can possibly imagine - unless you're already here too!  It's a strange, alien place to be and no mistake . . . .

Maggie,

To be brief, the ResMed Airsense 10 for her is in fact a three in one machine. It will do CPAP which is continuous air, APAP is for automatic adjustments (also titration) and third (KRAFT you know what I mean) I don't recall at the moment. If the price is right for you this is the better machine even if you don't care for the other features. Personally I have the Airsense 10 CPAP and I'm fine with it. Has the humidity chamber and if you like you can get the heated hose which eliminates rainouts.

At the end of the day it's your call and comfort that counts.

Cheers

I had no idea I was getting into such complicated territory.  I have no idea what KRAFT is unless it's the food company or somone called Daniel Kraft who turns up at apnea conventions.  My acronym finder was useless. I think I'll follow your example and get the Airsense 10 elite with Humidair CPAP machine which sounds most like my old machine - fixed pressure so no messing about with complicated settings and once I get it set, I can ignore the bits I'm not interested in.  I'll just make sure I down click to order the ClimateLine Heated Tubing - I have that with my old machine and like it.  I'm glad you mentioned it.  Wish me luck . . . I'd have thrown in the towel days ago but for your help . . . Meg

Oddly enough, I've been around a while and have no clue what KRAFT is.

Sounds good, let us know how you did with the transaction as it's quite possible others might travel down this route.  Overall Resmed is a great company there shouldn't be any problems.

RE: HELP ! - OpalRose - 02-20-2019

Hi Maggie,
I believe most here are recommending the AirSense 10 Autoset or the AirSense 10 AutoSet for Her.

They are essentially the same machine.  The ‘For Her’ Model has three modes:  Cpap mode (which is what you are currently using with your Elite Cpap), Auto Mode (which means you can set a range of pressure), and the For Her Mode (This mode reacts ‘softer’ than the regular Auto Mode.)

Don’t overthink this and make yourself crazy. Crazy  If you can get a “For Her” model at a decent price, then get it. You can set it to Cpap Mode, which is the same as you are using now.  But you would also have the Auto Modes should you want to experiment.

If you don’t want to deal with any of the above or have to mess with settings, then just buy the Elite Cpap.

BTW, I don’t know what Kraft is either!   Dont-know
