RE: AirFit F20 Irritating Nose Bridge - DreamerDude - 06-22-2022 Yep, I have already tried the F&P Vitera and Simplus masks but had leaks with my narrow nose bridge. Great masks but unfortunately not for me. I always go back to the F20. RE: AirFit F20 Irritating Nose Bridge - cartab - 06-23-2022 I've been having similar issues with my F30i, so I am using a P30i as a backup when that happens. I am also giving a try to the N20 with memory foam, and I ordered the silicon insert, to se if that is better. RE: AirFit F20 Irritating Nose Bridge - ECM5 - 06-23-2022 I tried using the gel nose pads but they have a weird smell and not sure if they cause the mask to leak. But they did protect the nose bridge well and stayed in place - they have adhesive that isn’t hard to get off after. RE: AirFit F20 Irritating Nose Bridge - Dave W - 06-26-2022 I tried many different bandaid applications. None worked. I even asked a dermatologist. He said "Thats not me..". And then I was pointed to the F&P Simplus. For me it's unbelievably effective. The strap marks on my cheeks are half what they were vs Airfit20. And the mark on nose of bridge are 90% less. And disappear in under an hour. My Airfit marks lasted all day. I was worried they'd become permanent. My incidents per hour dropped to under 3 and I barely notice the mask is there. If anyone is struggling with Airfit it may be worth your time to experiment with other systems. I got my first F&P from #1 and when I called they gave me 20% off and no shipping charge for being first time buyer. RE: AirFit F20 Irritating Nose Bridge - DreamerDude - 06-26-2022 I'm back to using the AirTouch in the larger size. It's more comfortable than the AirFit for me and I sleep much better. Problem is that the large size gives me more leaks but the medium size was too short in height and closed off my nose. RE: AirFit F20 Irritating Nose Bridge - mchris - 06-29-2022 I used the F20 for about a week but got the same problem (irritated nose bridge) After that I shortly tried the F30, but couldn't get a consistent seal with it (whenever the hose or I moved, it went blowing) The F30i made a huge difference for me. It is much more stable then then F30, and the hose on the top works very well for me (When I turn, I turn around over my belly at night, and it doesn't give an inch). An additional bonus was that my pressure (using APAP) went down about 2cm H20. Not completely sure why, but I assume my jaw was pulled backwards a bit with the F20, which doesn't happen (for me) with the F30/F30i Good luck finding your mask. RE: AirFit F20 Irritating Nose Bridge - jerrydaw - 07-02-2022 The ResMed F30 is a good mask. No more red whelps on the bridge of my nose from my old F20. But the F30 leaks.....a lot. I never get a green smiley face in the mornings. I can tighten the top straps and that helps, but never completely stops the leaking. I have just come to accept that this mask is going to leak a little....period. Mostly along the top edge. So long as my AHI's are in the good range, I can live with the leaking. I am usually in the 0.0 to 2.0 range. Think I might try a little CPAP gel mask leak sealer and see if that helps. RE: AirFit F20 Irritating Nose Bridge - ECM5 - 07-02-2022 What about trying the mask liners, they seem to help. RE: AirFit F20 Irritating Nose Bridge - SavvApnea - 08-15-2022 Quick update on my progress: when using my F20 I do use a large cushion now. I kept messing with the headgear and got it to seal without leaks. That being said, the permanent red mark on my nose bridge never goes away [both the F20 (M) and F20 (L) leave the red mark]. So, I ordered am F&P Vitera. Sadly the Vitera band that goes over my forehead makes my veins pop out almost immediately. I didn't even go to sleep before realizing it wasn't going to work. I adjusted the top band to maximum looseness, and there's almost no pressure on my forehead, but the issue remains with my veins. I used a money-back-guarentee-for-masks reseller and I got a refund. I'm probably going to try the f30i next. I'll be ordering a new mask today. RE: AirFit F20 Irritating Nose Bridge - SavvApnea - 10-15-2022 Customer support recommended I try the P10 nasal pillow mask so I did that instead of the F30i. Well... the P10 makes my left nostril whistle. I couldn't even go to sleep before giving up. I thought it was the P10 whistling but after troubleshooting I realized it's my nose. I forget what it's called but I have a tiny bump further up my nostril. It's benign and I've always had it, I wouldn't even know about it if an ENT didn't see it with a scope many years ago. But I digress.... nasal pillows are off the table for me I guess. So it's hybrid masks or FFM's. I used Resmed's sizing guide for the f30i tonight and none of the options fit my nose (I have a fairly large nose). So I don't know what I'll do. For now I'm using a large headgear with a large airfit mask. I played around with the tightness and got it to not leak. I still have a near permanent mark on the bridge of my nose every day following a night using the f20 Airfit (aka every day lol). Not sure what I'll do next but I don't want to give up. I might try an f30i anyway... |
