Okay, thanks for that. The first night trial with lower EPAP and minimum PS resulted in higher hypopnea and lower CA. Let's return EPAP MIN from 7.0 to your previous setting of 8.0 and see what that does.

This is still working better but high hypopnea. It looks like leak rate is okay. I think the path forward will attempt to titrate the minimum EPAP pressure by increasing in 0.5 cm increments. Let's try 8.5 with no other changes.

We're getting closer, the numbers are coming down. I was looking in the AHI graph and noticing that the high readings were early this morning while I was awake and just being lazy about getting out of bed. I plan on turning off the machine as soon as I wake in the future. BTW, I'm no longer getting those annoying high-pressure blast of air during AHI events. It's more of a gentle nudge to cause me to breath. The last couple of nights sleep have been the best ever with this machine.

Glad to see the CA is down and we can focus on hypopnea. The Philips machines seem to have a relatively high residual hypopnea, and if you can persuade your doctors to prescribe the Resmed aircurve 10 ASV I think most of this would go away Seems like with a recalled machine that is so outdated, that should not be too difficult to pull off.

I'm going to increase the min EPAP to 9.0 tonight and see what happens.
Sleeprider, I don't think this machine has ever gotten my AHI below 5.0. The Doctors have accepted that I was so much better than without it. And I do feel so much better than before the use of a CPAP machine. I have regained so much energy and alertness since using the machine. I don't have any complaint with my sleep health if the Doctors would stop making changes I can't live with.
I have an appointment on the 26th of this month with my sleep Doctor. I plan on discussing with him my options on replacing this machine. It's on Phillips' recall list for replacement. I'm hoping I can convince them to replace it with a ResMed machine. Insurance covered the cost of the present machine.

There are things we can't explain where a patient responds better to Resmed than Philips and sometimes vice-versa. The Resmed responds faster and seems to help individuals that have a lot of residual hypopnea. Meanwhile, you are on the right track to self-titrate and optimize this therapy.

Sleeprider, I had my visit with the sleep doctor today. He was satisfied with the pressure settings we worked out. He also agreed that it was past time to replace my old machine. I told him I was interested in trying the ResMed aircurve 10 ASV. He was willing to give it a try, only problem was finding a Medicare provider with access to the machine. He called six providers that he uses for Medicare patients, and no one has been able to get that machine. They suggested to try back in six months. I can't afford it without insurance help. I'll just wait and see what develops.
