No, I didn't say that at all! To be clear... this is the first you've mentioned polyps and a deviated septum... unless I missed it.... The only mask I'm aware of for oral use is the ORACLE. Another alternative is to talk to an ear, nose and throat specialist. RE: Made (Therapy Thread) - Made - 08-10-2022 I said blocked nose but did not describe why. My hospital thinks that i need a BIPAP for the extra pressure to clear my nose as they believe it will clear the polyp!!!!! so im a bit touchy sorry. ENT considers that surgery is too risky and in there words "I can still breath through my mouth" Im wondering if there will ever be another Oral mask other than a Oracle hence my post RE: Made (Therapy Thread) - Gideon - 08-10-2022 Per your profile you don't have your APAP maxed out. Can we please see your daily OSCAR screenshots. That will be a much better basis for advice. The max pressure difference from CPAP to BiLevel is from 20 to 25 and that is not that much. RE: Made (Therapy Thread) - Made - 08-10-2022 If I set the range to say 10 -20 then it will stay at 20 for a lot of the night If I set the range to say 10-18 then it will stay at 18 for a lot of the night If I set the range to say 10-16 then it will stay at 16 for a lot of the night. BUT What ever setting I use my AHI is always under 1 its the pressure which goes to my nose when my oral airway blocks which means I wake with a sore head Ps I have so many sleepyhead/oscar reports that I need to clear them all out and start again RE: Made (Therapy Thread) - Gideon - 08-10-2022 The bottom line is the hospital says you need a BiLevel for more pressure. That may be the case, IMHO the ResMed VAuto, barring any issues that would contradict it, be a more flexible machine. I'm just not sure that is needed but in no way would I object to your getting one. The fact that the hospital said you need one for it's increased pressure means your pressure on this machine should be near 20 if not 20. RE: Made (Therapy Thread) - Made - 08-10-2022 so yet again you are saying that that higher pressure will unblock my polyp blocked nose RE: Made (Therapy Thread) - Gideon - 08-10-2022 In most cases yes, I am at a disadvantage in not knowing size and location of the polyp and the size of the pipe it's blocking, nor the knowledge of how to interpret that data. CPAP failing may be further indication that you need surgery. In no way am I a doctor, I'm simply a PAP users that has helped many. Your hospital said it should. That is a medical opinion that I cannot provide. RE: Made (Therapy Thread) - Made - 08-10-2022 I posted back on this forum to se if there was anything new which can help my problem with dealing with a nasal polyp blocking my left nostril and a deviated septum pushing over to the right. The moderator joined this onto a old post. All i want to know is if there is anything new which may help as even at a pressure 16 this gives my blocked nose a hard time if my oral airways block RE: Made (Therapy Thread) - Crimson Nape - 08-10-2022 I see you are using the F&P Simplus. Have you considered a hybrid like the F&P Evora Full, Resmed F30 and F30i, or the Philips Dreamwear? These are like a nasal pillow with a mouth enclosure. The difference is the Simplus provides an equal pressure on both the inside and out of the nasal passage, thus leaving your nasal passage in a natural state. The hybrids and Nasal Pillow type masks supply pressure directly into the nasal cavity, thus creating a higher pressure inside the nose only, while the outside of the nose is at normal atmospheric pressure. This acts as a stent, expanding the nasal passage, and allowing for better breathing. - Red RE: Made (Therapy Thread) - Made - 08-10-2022 I have tried the F30, Dreamwear and the Amara view and they all gave the same problem. That is they cut into the inside of my right nostril. i think this could be caused by my deviated septum. I have been considering the F30i or the new Evora but its all money |
