RE: Another CPAP beginner seeking guidance. - sebirez - 08-16-2023 Last night's data with a couple of zooms. [attachment=53240][attachment=53239][attachment=53238] RE: Another CPAP beginner seeking guidance. - Jay51 - 08-16-2023 That is a good 3 minute zoomed in view. It is close to the beginning of your session (hopefully you are asleep here). It looks ok to me IMO. Your flow limitations summary data look good also. I hope you figure out how to keep leaks under control. RE: Another CPAP beginner seeking guidance. - sebirez - 08-16-2023 Thanks for the feedback. So do I. I'll keep making adjustments and hope for the best I guess. RE: Another CPAP beginner seeking guidance. - sebirez - 08-18-2023 Switched to the nasal mask last night to see how that would affect my results. Wasn't able to keep it on all night and this is what my data looks like. I see the sustained pressure of 12 which means I needed to be at a higher pressure. Anyone have any ideas as to what is up with the flow limit and RERA events? [attachment=53326] RE: Another CPAP beginner seeking guidance. - Jay51 - 08-18-2023 Good question. It would seem to me that your new nasal mask and leaks are the reason for this, but I am not 100% sure. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable than me will comment if my statement above is incorrect. RE: Another CPAP beginner seeking guidance. - sebirez - 08-18-2023 Ok. Thanks for your continued replies. Hopefully someone else will chime in if they notice something else. RE: Another CPAP beginner seeking guidance. - sebirez - 08-27-2023 Here is another night's worth of data including a couple zooms. I would love any ideas on how I might be able to take that AHI down to 0. I still feel fatigue at this level. [attachment=53682][attachment=53683][attachment=53684] RE: Another CPAP beginner seeking guidance. - sebirez - 08-27-2023 And another night. [attachment=53688][attachment=53689][attachment=53690] RE: Another CPAP beginner seeking guidance. - Jay51 - 08-27-2023 Thank you for posting all of those charts. Since your leaks are down, not nearly as much flow limitations and RERAS like in the post on 8-18. You still have some CA's. EPR is off. That is good. Turing on EPR would probably increase your CA's. Hopefully the CA's are treatment emergent and should go away in a few weeks after adapting to apap. You have more OA's in a few of these charts. They are spread out though and not clustered together. The usual treatment for OA's is raising pressure (but that might raise your CA's also - it a balancing act). Lowing your pillow height, changing sleeping position (ex: supine to side lying), and the last resort would be wearing a soft cervical collar. Everything else look ok IMO. Not bad AHI, but a few small tweaks could make it even better. Great job decreasing the leaks. RE: Another CPAP beginner seeking guidance. - sebirez - 08-28-2023 Thanks for your replies. I've read that treatment-emergent CAs can go away after a few months of therapy, so I hope that is the case here. (I've only been using the CPAP for a couple months so far.) I will look into other small adjustments to bring OAs down to 0. One other question. I noticed that my flow rate patterns take on an irregular shape, most like class 6 in the following chart: https://www.apneaboard.com/wiki/index.php?title=File:Flowlimitations_Classes.png. Here is a screenshot of my data showing that pattern. [attachment=53719] That is how my flow rate charts look every night. Clearly my breathing is not taking on the normal sinusoidal pattern. I'm wondering what could be causing that and effect it could have on my treatment/AHI. Any thoughts? |
