OK copy. Try getting the VAuto you mentioned. Being a bilevel, it'll have more settings to assist your therapy.

Thanks. Email sent to owner to see if it's still available

I will be acquiring the AirCurve 10 VAuto tomorrow.   Should I use a new profile (and SD Card) for the AirCurve?

I understand that the AirCurve 10VAuto does not report Flow Limitations as the Airsense does. Flow limitations are an issue for me.  I read that there might be a way to calculate it from the data the AirCurve supplies.  Any assistance appreciated.

I could also use some help in determining the starting settings for the AirCurve.  The screenshot in the first post and this one (if it attached) are pretty typical.  Current settings are in my profile.  EPR=3

You have been misinformed, the VAuto does report Flow Limitations. The AC10 has to be in the Auto mode and not the "S" mode for it to report. Now, the AC10 does not report RERAs.

I used the AirCurve 10 VAuto last night.  I woke up twice in seven hours, which is somewhat less than usual.   Felt pretty good.   The data as viewed by Oscar is somewhat astounding.  As stated previously, my two issues have been excessive leakage and flow limitations.  I was hoping that the BiLevel would address the latter as I work on the former, but these results suggest that both have been addressed.  I noted that the VAuto algorithm includes a leak compensation function, which must be what is "reducing" the leaks.

Thanks to those that suggested a bilevel device.  Any suggestions on fine tuning settings is welcomed.  I note that the volume of air delivered at the start of therapy seems a bit marginal.  Should I try raising min EPAP or PS?

Charts of a typical before (AirSense 10 Autoset) and after (AirCurve 10 VAuto):

I would think editing EPAP Min the better choice for you. Maybe go up to 6. Higher PS would likely not be ideal for you.

OOPS! Double post.

I'm glad you got the Vauto. I have one and they are wonderful machines! Smile

I have to wholeheartedly agree.  I am looking forward to posting in the success stories thread, but will wait for more data.  I wasn't born yesterday.

An update: I have been reading and learning quite a bit on the forum.  Wonderful resource, and many thanks to the experts who donate their time and energy to help others.  It's too bad that it is so needed but the more I learn the more I am amazed at how poor the treatment infrastructure seem to be, at least in my jurisdiction and in the USA.

Attached is last nights chart.  I am now two weeks into the AirCurve 10 VAUTO, and it seems that the rather remarkable results that I noted first night have continued.  The changes that I have made include the following:
  • Turned off the humidifier and heated tubing;
  • Raised EPAP from 5 to 7;
  • Raised IPAP from 14 to 16;
  • Raised PS from 4 to 6 (last night)
All of these changes were from recommendations from the forum experts, either general recs or to members with similar issues.

It looks like my two main problems (Leakage and Flow Limits) have been resolved and my AHI continues to decline.  My only remaining issue is waking up several times during the night and often not falling asleep again for long periods.  Last night I slept continuously for 4 hours, which is the longest for quite a while.  We will see if the pressure changes are responsible or if it's just a coincidence.
