Do you have a dry mouth on waking? Some people use tape there are a lot of posts about using mouth tape. I have tried that but could not tolerate it. I use a full face mask because I am a pretty heavy mouth breather. I think the mask was just getting pushed up against my pillow. It wasn't on tight enough. RE: New User - Getting Discouraged - Smithaj39 - 07-19-2024 Like you I have only been using my Bipap machine for six weeks. I am discouraged too but am determined to keep on. I went from a nasal to a full face mask because of high leaks and I hated putting tape over my mouth. With the F&P Endora I have no leaks but I find it very cumbersome to put on and take off. My numbers seem to be going up instead of down. Last night my AHI was 47.8 with OAE 10.2 and CAE 37.6. The doctor has increased my pressure from 8/5 to 14/7 and I guess he will increase it again when I see him in two weeks. I have no good advice for you since I need it for myself. This is the first day on this forum so I have a lot to learn on how to navigate it. Just know that you are not alone in your struggles. RE: New User - Getting Discouraged - staceyburke - 07-19-2024 Smithaj39 Please download OSCAR and post a night, I bet we can help you a lot. Put it in a new post and keep all your posts about your treatment together and we will help. The folks on this board are extremely helpful. Because of the settings Stacey recommended, I had my best night of sleep on the cpap yet last night. RE: New User - Getting Discouraged - staceyburke - 07-19-2024 We all most always tell everyone to turn the ramp off, Why? Because during the ramp you are not getting any therapy and events are not shown. If you get up in the night a couple of time to use the RR then the total time really adds up you are not getting therapy. With that being said, if you just can't get to sleep without the ramp, use it. |
