RE: ASV user request for analysis - Labromaniac - 06-11-2022 Sooooo helpful. Will go play with that now. Thanks for bringing up "Junior" LOL By the way, the board is so much more helpful in a technical way than "the other place" where I had been for 8 years. This board has a whole different vibe and thus far has been very helpful with such fast responses. Clearly a dedicated team to helping people. I am thrilled be here. Just expressing my thanks. RE: ASV user request for analysis - Rich66 - 06-11-2022 oops, wrote it wrong in previous post --- raising EPAP min will raised IPAP Min, assuming no change to PS Min. Those flat top pressures are not near your IPAP Max, because the actual EPAP pressure is holding back the pressure as dictated by the Pressure Support settings. See my earlier post, second paragraph, Post #9. I hope that's clear. We all need to pitch in, I found it difficult to get any actual help from anyone that was supposed to actually help me. And they got paid. RE: ASV user request for analysis - DaveL - 06-12-2022 (06-11-2022, 08:01 PM)Labromaniac Wrote: Sooooo helpful. Will go play with that now. Thanks for bringing up "Junior" LOL That was my experience too. I was harassed for not knowing anything about treatment other than what I had learned through my sleep doc. I avoided forums for a couple of years after that. Years ago I was on a newsgroup. The best people were bantered and challenged until they no longer participated. I found a wonderful man through that group whose name was " chapman " if I remember correctly. I hope he is well. Point is this forum is a magical place with wonderful skilled individuals who do so much good. DaveL RE: ASV user request for analysis - Labromaniac - 06-13-2022 Greetings! I went for another night without changing any of the settings other than the first time as recommended here and by my sleep doc. I thought it would be good to get a string of daily data before making another change AND maybe waiting also until my new taller cervical collars arrive in the next three days. Here is last night's data. The new for me ResMed F20 AirTOUCH mask is a miracle. That memory foam makes the most amazing and comfortable seal on my thin face. I am never aware of any leaks and was even able to loosen the straps to very light pressure. With the new mask and lighter pressure settings, I was not aware of being awakened and having the machine pound me with high pressure ventilation so that I had to turn the machine off to recycle it. THIS IS PROGRESS! I have attached a full night data picture and closeups of two clusters of events. Flow limitations do not look present during these events. Therefore do these represent centrals or are they still thought to be obstructive perhaps from chin tuck? If so, what is it about the pictures that gives this impression? I am still at the beginnings of reading waves and would love your teaching on analyzing them. RE: ASV user request for analysis - DaveL - 06-13-2022 Please let me know how long the insert lasts. I've heard about a month....but it probably depends on treatment and how it's maintained. Can it be washed? DaveL RE: ASV user request for analysis - Labromaniac - 06-14-2022 Here's another night to add to post #34. Taller cervical collar should arrive today. I have attached full night and 2 clusters of events. Still much more comfortable and not being awakened, but some events still slipping through. Comments? RE: ASV user request for analysis - Labromaniac - 06-15-2022 Cervical collar changed from 3" to 4". Please see posts #34 and #36 AHI was zero and slept through to 5:30 with one pee break in the middle of the night. Looks like this is big progress. Images are of full night and 2 snippets of areas where the machine registered flow limits. Are these true anatomical limits or signs of centrals? Any reason to make any more changes to pressures? RE: ASV user request for analysis - Sleeprider - 06-15-2022 I like where the pressure is at for now. You seem comfortable, leaks are very low and there are a few minimal clusters of events that we want to watch after you get started with the new collar. Your latest night is incredible, and it doesn't get any better than that. It seems the machine is responding appropriately as and when needed without blasting you with high pressure. I don't see anything that should be changed. What are your thoughts? RE: ASV user request for analysis - Labromaniac - 06-15-2022 Sleeprider thank you so much for that feedback! Yes I feel quite comfortable. The taller cervical collar I think is making a big difference and thank God I am no longer being blasted by high pressures and awakened. That had been going on probably for a very long time, like years. A 4 inch collar is really tall but I suspect I will get used to it. So I guess now I will put in several days and be sure the trend continues. I'll report back after that. Bowing in gratitude. RE: ASV user request for analysis - Rich66 - 06-15-2022 If I understand right, and I could be wrong, "flow limits" are ignored when using ASV. I think it has something to do with the a flow limit gets registered when the lungs are at the point of being full of air. Someone with more knowledge will have to confirm or correct. Congratulations by the way. |
