RE: Need help finding the right pressure. - kidchameleon - 03-22-2023 I thought it would help open my airway up a bit, but I'm not an expert so maybe it really doesn't do much to help after all. I guess what I really need is a higher pressure to see some good results. I'll make sure to sleep in a more normal position starting tonight. Should I keep the same 10-15cm pressure or should I go a little higher? And should I raise EPR back to 3? I'm sure I've had better control of my flow limit that way. RE: Need help finding the right pressure. - Sleeprider - 03-22-2023 Once you get out of an inclined or upright sleep position, things should be better with lower pressure. There are people with severe back problems that require inclined sleeping, and this is a huge problem. Once you get back to normal, and you should, your sleep results should improve. RE: Need help finding the right pressure. - kidchameleon - 04-13-2023 I was wondering, but is there a chance APAP might not work on me but something like BiPap would? No matter what pressure I used I never see consistent results, some nights I'll have around 1 and others around 5. Usually never above 5. I don't know what is going on with my body, I haven't felt any sort of relief. So I thought I'd experiment one night with a spare BiPap I have here. I used the pressures recommended for a beginner from a Reddit post to start with something. Should I go back to APAP or should I try BiPap for another few nights? I didn't feel any relief either but I'm not 100% on what my pressure should be or if I should use BiPap to begin with. Need help finding the right pressure... again. - kidchameleon - 06-03-2023 I'm back after a few months and obviously I haven't found success in any way. I feel like no matter what I do I still can't get the results I need. No matter what I set my EPR to, my flow limitations are always above 5. I think ideally it should be below that? And even then my AHI is inconsistent every night. I really want it to be at least below 2, if possible. Right now I wear a 3.5 soft cervical collar and I wear a large backpack to keep me from rolling onto my back. I'll attach my results from last night below, although I now realize I should have raised my max to 20cm. I'm also trying really hard to set my bedtime to 11pm. Is APAP even for me or should I switch to Bilevel? I have a BiPap machine available just in case. I'm using a Resmed Autoset 10 with a full face mask. Edit: My EPR on that chart is set at 3 RE: Need help finding the right pressure. - Crimson Nape - 06-03-2023 kidchameleon - Your most recent thread/post is a continuation of your original thread. I have merged the two. Please keep all post concerning your therapy in this thread. This allows a reader the opportunity to see the history of your treatment. - Red RE: Need help finding the right pressure. - kidchameleon - 06-03-2023 Oh right, I'm sorry about that, I wasn't too sure what to do there. I'll avoid that mistake from now on. RE: Need help finding the right pressure. - kidchameleon - 06-04-2023 I was thinking about it, but I think maybe the reason why I don't feel good is because I wake up multiple times a night. Usually about 4 hours in, I'll wake up and then go back to sleep. I don't wake up coughing or choking or needing to go to the bathroom, I just open my eyes, realize I'm awake and I go back to sleep. But even then I'm sure that disrupts everything. These are my charts from last night. Everything was fine until I woke up, then after 4 hours and 17 minutes you can see how the pressure goes all over the place. What could be causing me to wake up? I know I have some anxiety issues, so it could be that? I can't think of anything else causing these obstructions. I wear a backpack and a cervical collar. RE: Need help finding the right pressure. - Crimson Nape - 06-04-2023 I've noticed a transparent background on the left of your images. It appears to be a residual image of some graph options. How are you taking the screenshot? - Red RE: Need help finding the right pressure. - kidchameleon - 06-06-2023 Wow, I didn't notice this reply, I usually get an email notification. I'm sorry about that. Back to your question, I have Oscar downloaded on my Steam Deck so I don't have a physical keyboard attached. It's the only PC I have right now, but next time I take a snapshot I'll attach a keyboard to prevent that from happening again. I was reading on my past posts and I decided that maybe it'll be best to stay on a pressure of 10cm - 20cm. My results here below were pretty good, but my EPR was off and my flow limitations were very high, so with a pressure of 10 and an EPR of 3 it'll be similar to 7cm. I want to stay on that for about half a week and then change it to 10.4cm. A few days later I'll change it to 11cm. Does that sound good or am I going too fast? I want to take my time this time. RE: Need help finding the right pressure. - Sleeprider - 06-06-2023 The last image looks excellent, and the main difference is that EPAP is above 11.0 without the EPR. This suggests to me, that the obstructive apnea may be the result of minimum pressure too low in combination with EPR. If we use this as a guide, you would be using 14 minimum pressure with EPR 3. |
