RE: TheBinarySon's Treatment Thread - TheBinarySon - 06-12-2024

Good morning!  Here is last night's data.  Again, spiky flow chart despite only a couple events, and again, no going over 9.5 in pressure.  I even set the regular min P to 9.5 and it still didn't go over it.  So do I keep with APAP for more nights, or do I go to CPAP with 9.5?  Perhaps I'll keep APAP for one more night but turn off Smart A just to see if anything changes.

Are you using Reslex yet?

RE: TheBinarySon's Treatment Thread - TheBinarySon - 06-12-2024

Hello! Yes when I started APAP night before last, I turned Reslex to the suggested setting of 2.

RE: TheBinarySon's Treatment Thread - TheBinarySon - 06-12-2024

I'm going to bed at 10 and I decided I'll be doing APAP again, but this time without Smart A on, as when I upped the min pressure of APAP to 9.5, the smart A settings did not change from the night before (smart P 8, smart min 6, smart max 13).  I wanna see what I can get to with 9.5 as a true minimum.

RE: TheBinarySon's Treatment Thread - TheBinarySon - 06-13-2024

Good Morning!  Here's my charts from last night.  Interesting to note:

1.)  Pressure was mostly at 9.5 again, with a few periods at 10 and 10.5

2.)  Two big chunks of relatively homogeneous flow amplifications!

3.)  No major leaks aside from when I woke up to get the drool out of my mask - anyone know how to fix a drooling issue?

Question is what to do next? More APAP to see if the pressure stays around the same or goes up more, or CPAP at 9.5 or 10 or 10.5?

There is not much to see here. One event, a flow line and a satisfactory leak line. I think you should focus on your qualitative experience rather than the numbers or pressure. If there is a way to reduce ramp time, that looks like a good idea, otherwise, a very limited pressure variation like yours is generally a good indicator of being on-target with pressure settings. Since you're using 2-cm of reslex, your fixed pressure of 8.0 has risen by 2-cm. That is as expected. I don't know what your current pressure setting range is, so you may have it capped at 10.

RE: TheBinarySon's Treatment Thread - TheBinarySon - 06-13-2024

Hey sleeprider! Thanks for the insight.

My pressure last night was capped at 13, with 9.5 as a minimum.

I can reduce the ramp time from 60mins down in increments of 5 to 0, or put it on auto. I just have it at 60 because I take a long time to fall asleep, especially lately with CPAP/APAP.

But that's good to hear that I'm on target pressure wise, at least as indicated by what little data this software shows. I think I'll switch back to CPAP, make the pressure 10.5 since that was the highest it went, keep Reslex on at 2, and see how that feels, and move the pressure down to 10 or 9.5 over the coming days if I need to. In a day or two I may possibly turn SmartC on, just to see what it does.

Good morning!

Waking up today feeling pretty ok I guess.  Not groggy, which is nice.  Below is my chart, though I don't know how much it shows.  The first OSA, during the ramp, has to be a false positive because I was still awake during the ramp time.

Good Morning!

Chart from last night.  Had some intense dreams - one that woke me up to find myself shouting "KISS MY ASS" angrily at someone into my pillow.  Not the best way to wake up, but not the worst I guess.

Chart is below.  The two events during the ramp time are false because I was still awake during the ramp.  I just wish I knew what I had to do to get my flow chart look less spiky and more straight across like a healthy one is supposed to.  But the software doesn't show enough to show that, so, this is where we're at.  I'm just grateful I'm sleeping these days, and sleeping better than I used to, and waking up not particularly groggy.  Hopefully it just gets better from here.

Good Morning!

Slept pretty well, at least I think I did.  When you haven't experienced something before you're not sure how it's supposed to feel.  It's kind of like when my depression lifted earlier this year.  I was afraid to say I was feeling "good," but I knew I was feeling NOT as sh**ty as before.

Little more leaks last night, so I'll have to watch that, but other than false events during the ramp when I was awake no events flagged.
