RE: SonjaAHI41 - Therapy Thread - OpalRose - 06-23-2024 Sonja, The issue here is that you're simply not using your machine. Your usage shows approximately 28 days usage from late April to now. That's 42% compliant. I consider this almost a crime that your provider isn't helping you find a better mask fit. You admit to removing the mask, so there's a fit/comfort problem. From your graph, the spikes indicate that this is mostly mask movement. Have you read the mask primer? Here's a link. http://www.apneaboard.com/wiki/index.php?title=Mask_Primer You must insist that your provider help you choose a different mask or find another provider. IDK, maybe it's not that easy in your country. Your therapy numbers are not bad at all. Although only 2.5 hrs use, your FL dropped from almost 20 to 9. Not great, but much better. Your AHI (mostly Reras) dropped from 3.35 to 1.05, so an improvement. I'm sort of adding that myself, because you chopped off the top part of the left sidebar. The only change I'm recommending right now is to set the IPR to 3, keep minimum pressure at 7. Please read through the Mask Primer link. See if you can get a better fit on your mask. When you take a Screenshot of your graph, follow these instructions: Set your display to the Standard view. (View > Reset Graphs > Standard) Take a screenshot of your Daily screen. * For Windows or Linux: Use the F12 key * For a Mac: Use Fn+F12 These are the only graphs you need to show: Events, Flow Rate, Pressure, Leak Rate, and Flow Limitation (if your machine reports that). Please include all of the left sidebar, top to bottom. I'd like to see the very top part that shows machine description, pressures and AHI. Also need to see all the statistics at the bottom. If you use the F12 key (standard view), it should include the entire screenshot as described. Following this will eliminate the three screenshots you are now posting for one day. Things to work on: Mask fit, keeping that mask on for more than 2 hours. Using your machine every night! RE: SonjaAHI41 - Therapy Thread - SonjaAHI41 - 06-23-2024 Dear, You have no idea how much your community means to me and people like you who follow me and try to help. I read everything related to CPAP mask, but unfortunately, most of the advice cannot be applied here. I quote : " each of us has a different facial structure. This means that what works for me may or may not work for you, and what works for you may or may not work for me. You have to TRY the masks to see what works for you. Third, You will have to try masks to see what works for you." I can only buy new masks until I find the right one and that is too expensive for me. I will try wearing Anti-snore collars as well. " My son tried to do as you advised but he thinks it can't be done because of my laptop. Whatever, thanks a lot. RE: SonjaAHI41 - Therapy Thread - SonjaAHI41 - 06-24-2024 Thanks for your patience and all yours advise. I'm trying to learn as much as possible and I'm not giving up I am putting yesterday's statistics - I also included the statistics that were missing yesterday. Unfortunately, I am not yet able to include the entaire screenshot. RE: SonjaAHI41 - Therapy Thread - PeaceLoveAndPizza - 06-24-2024 Sonja, what specific Hoffricther model do you have? Is it the Point 2 or Point 3? As I recall their model numbering schemes are a bit confusing. It looks like you have min pressure at 7, max at 12, and flex at 2 or 3. I cannot see the entire chart on a single screen, so want to be sure I understand how it is setup. As I recall their model numbering schemes are a bit confusing. It's Point 3. listening to your advice, I reduced the min to 7 and the max to 12 and IPR 3 RE: SonjaAHI41 - Therapy Thread - PeaceLoveAndPizza - 06-24-2024 I did not suggest those settings, I was saying what it looks to be where currently set. I think you need to slightly increase pressure to 8 or 9 and keep IPR to 3. You are limited by what the machine can offer for pressure support, so you will need to increase pressure to handle the OA and H events. Do you have any allergies or nasal conditions? The Point 3 is limited to a flex IPR of 3 and it seems you may need more. If there are conditions causing the flow limitations, they can be dealt with using nasal spray or allergy medications. Otherwise, you may need to consider moving to a bilevel like the Trend 3 auto-bilevel or ResMed AirCurve 10 or 11 Vauto to get the pressure support needed. Also, if not already doing so try a flatter pillow and/or soft cervical collar. Anything to help keep the airway open can be a help. RE: SonjaAHI41 - Therapy Thread - Crimson Nape - 06-24-2024 Sonja - Like another brand's results, the IPR setting of 3 appears to be altering your therapy. May I suggest you reduce it to a setting of 2 to see if this helps. - Red RE: SonjaAHI41 - Therapy Thread - SonjaAHI41 - 06-24-2024 quote: "I did not suggest those settings, I was saying what it looks to be where currently set. RE: SonjaAHI41 - Therapy Thread - OpalRose - 06-24-2024 Sonja, you have two very knowledgeable folk jumping in to help. Hang in there, don't give up! Try the IPR set at 2 as stated above. Repost and we'll take another look. RE: SonjaAHI41 - Therapy Thread - SonjaAHI41 - 06-25-2024 OpalRose Than Thanks for all the advice I get from all of you. . I must say that I am quite disappointed because the more I read and learn, the more I see that without trying more masks, more settings, I won't be able to solve my problem. this morning I went to my doctor to give me a referral to a specialized institution for sleep disorders. I should spend the night in the hospital for at least 5 days, so I hope that at least something will improve regarding my problem. The only thing is that we have to wait up to a year, or even more, and until then I have to do my best to improve the use of the Cpap mask. I will continue to follow you regularly and listen to your advice. Once again, a big thank you to everyone who selflessly helps us beginners. |
