RE: Please help with treatment review - Gideon - 11-09-2021 How do you feel? Try this for several days and report how you feel. My goal was to see if you needed to go down that rabbit hole, and the improvement with EPR=3 says no. So how do you feel? RE: Please help with treatment review - DaveL - 11-09-2021 Thanks Gideon! EPR=3 has helped. I feel better than before the change. Sunday I had a longer sleep with EPR=3; I'm embarrassed I left the card out of my machine. Monday I had a shorter sleep. I feel somewhat better, but regret not sleeping longer. I woke up 1/2 an hour before my alarm and don't know why. My alarm goes off at 6:30. I posted here about 6:10 a.m. I hadn't gone to the washroom, so that wasn't the reason I woke up. My iwatch shows I woke up twice during the night but stayed in bed. I wasn't aware of that. However, it also shows I slept for an 1 hour listening to a class lecture before I went to bed. I was sitting in the family room listening to the lecture on an ipad. I hope the course is over soon; it's boring. I think that this change has helped. Suggest with respect I should try it for a while. Please remember that I live in Ontario Canada. I must have a prescription to get a different machine, and that's allowed every 5 years. I got the apap *for her* end of August over a year ago. And I'm an old hoser.....75 RE: Please help with treatment review - DaveL - 11-09-2021 Thanks Sleeprider! (did you see my note in the other section about the wonderful MC explorer? Itchy Boots? Fascinating! She's travelling alone all over the world on her motorcycle, videotaping. Brave soul.) I'm claustrophobic and use a nasal mask and stuff to keep my jaw closed. My mask is a ResMed N20. I truly appreciate your comments. I had ignored OSCAR and such for a long while. I realized that I felt like >>>>. Every time I sat down in front of a tv, or out on the porch I fell asleep. That's when i made a post here. Gideon has helped a lot. EPR=3 is on now; it was EPR=1 before. GIDEON--Several days after setting EPR=3 - DaveL - 11-11-2021 Feeling -- tired Regularly fell asleep yesterday when sitting. I had a long sleep the night before However--I do feel better with EPR=3 Gideon--final screenshot from last night - DaveL - 11-11-2021 I chose 3 times to take screenshots at random. I hope these help. Your suggestions have been so helpful. Dave Fatigue; not thinking clearly - DaveL - 11-12-2021 Here's the screenshot from last night. Fatigue Not thinking clearly Not talking well (having issues with conversation) Dave I shall take 3 random screen shots.... Fatigue--not thinking clearly - DaveL - 11-12-2021 I'm tired, and having issues thinking clearly. I've fallen asleep sitting in my home-office. DaveL RE: Please help with treatment review - DaveL - 11-16-2021 I spent almost 30 years where the standard of treatment was AHI<5 4 hours machine on each night. (no mask required.) I thank you all for your work setting me straight and leading me on a path to real treatment. My concern is "I don't know what I don't know". As I get older I really want my treatment to work. Gideon thanks for providing the link to the work-in-progress. I've read it a number of times. In the simplest case, could a person who suspects they have sleep apnea be handed a ResMed S10 *for her* with a mask and hose, and be allowed to do a sleep study at home? * what settings? * plug the machine in * fill the humidifier chamber * put on the mask * sleep RE: Please help with treatment review - SarcasticDave94 - 11-16-2021 Sure, I think, a home study would be fine in most cases. It could be a diagnostic similar to the lab but less wires. And it's your own bed. If you're using a PAP on your testing, then it's a Titration of some sort. Unless you're counting your own adjusting, this would be a lab test only as far as I know. RE: Please help with treatment review - DaveL - 11-17-2021 Thanks Dave. I'm happy to say that last night I had a good night's sleep. Even though I had fewer hours I seemed to sleep better. I'm very grateful. I'm glad that I have help here, and my S10 *for her* is cooking along. Dave |
