Sounds like he used resmed software to write new settings to the card to be uploaded to the machine. That sets the card name to resmed and wiped all data.

Sleepyhead saves a copy of the data you had on import so you should have the old data take a look in My Documents\Sleepyhead Data\Your Profile\Backup The card will be fine to use as it is but it will be starting a fresh

RE: New User [need help with my data] - Recurve - 10-03-2017

Yes I think you are correct he wrote new settings to the card which lost all old results. Wish he would have told us what he wanted changed I know how to change her machine myself. I am getting sick and tired of these techs with zero knowledge. How can a forum give better advice than someone employed to do a job. Mums heart results showed 70% why will no one accept she may need ASV? this forum said since day 1 she has complex/mixed apnea and she is on wrong machine. How do they have no clue how to treat a patient. Our GP said ASV causes death is this even close to truth when she has 70% on her test?

Very disillusioned with sleep techs/doctors atm

If ASV caused death, it would not be marketed as an FDA approved respirator in the U.S. This is going to sound political, but I wish all the people in the U.S. clamoring for socialized medicine could see how the lack of choice and status as both customer and patient results in inferior care. Why should a medical professional care if his care is up to date or serves the highest needs of his patient. His customer is the government and earns a paycheck. He is over-worked, and told what to prescribe to save costs.

That's not political that's just the facts!

Recurve, If your mum can't get off the opiates, she may need an ASV because of the CA. You are wasting your time with a GP and are going to need a decent pulmonologist/sleep specialist, who is abreast of the current research.
The doctors advising that you should wait a month or so, are correct when they are pressure induced CA. A large percent resolve during this time. I can't see any benefit waiting if they are opioid induced.

Thanks all again

We are waiting on a call for a 2nd sleep study to be arranged. No one here from the 2 clinics we visited seem to like ASV and say they can control CSA via APAP, with settings changed yesterday she did not have a very bad chart considering what her last week looked like. I think best thing to do now is wait and see if they stabilize around these figures for a week while we wait for a new sleep study.

After seeing a technician from another clinic Mum does not wish to go back and see her old treating doctor (we have an appointment on the 10th Oct) would you suggest we attend this Appt or cancel using him all together? Mum feels guilty for going for a 2nd opinion behind his back even though I feel it is her right to get 2nd opinion.

Update

So after another sleep study done in hospital we saw a technician who told us ASV may be needed with her study results but we would have to work towards that if the Specialist changes did not work, he would not make any changes without seeing the Specialist doctor. So we waited and waited with results that where not good.

Yesterday we saw her new Specialist and he seemed to be knowledgeable so I took a back seat while he dealt with my Mum. Well this ended poorly for us as he said her recent sleep study where he gave her stilnox so they could get her to sleep the length of time needed resulted in exactly the same as her 1st sleep study Obstructive, mixed and centrals all showing up. He then went on to suggest and prescribe a script for Endep 10mg for which I can not work out why and said he was happy with her results which average around 18-50 AHI per night and requested she go off of more pain medication plus become more active during the day. He would make no changes to her pressure settings just go home and be happy.

I had had enough by this point and told him the reason we saw him was another Specialist was happy with her AHI being between 18-60  as long as she wore the mask. If he is happy with these results we would go elsewhere to find better help and I asked him why ASV was not an option any Specialist we can find would consider. Mums treating pain specialists wants her back on morphine not less meds, her quality of life is bad enough as it is spending 90% of her life in bed and he wants her off more medication!!!.

I asked him why yet another sleep study showed obstructive/mixed/central Apnea is being treated with the basic machine when ASV may be better allowing her to take the medication she needs to live any sort of life. He paused for a minute and said she would not be entitled to any public health to fund ASV. I replied we never used public health to buy her current device and need no funding to get her ASV if it is what will help her best. I then went on to explain what ajack YouTube presentation showed that opioid induced central sleep Apnea can be controlled via ASV and asked why no treating Specialist we can find is willing to at least test ASV when she clearly needs medication and these medications can cause central/mixed Apnea. I told him about asking for advice on a forum, well he hated that how dare we question him or any other treating Specialist. But he said if we can fund the cost for ASV he is willing to try it.

We where so close to walking out to try and find another specialist until he finally agreed to test ASV and we now have an appt today at 11:30am to set up an ASV test machine to see if it helps more. So I give him some respect he at least listened to what I had to say and could not refute any points made here on the forum or via studies that have been linked here.

Now I ask does this ASV machine do reports the same as her ResMed AirSense 10 so I can copy her results here via either Sleepyhead or the Resmed software so I can show you all the settings they prescribe and results from the change?

I requested a copy of her latest sleep test and they refused so I am hopeful her normal doctor will give us a copy. I can not believe how hard it is in WA to find help without having to fight for it.

I can upload any results needed since seeing new technicians/doctor if anyone wants to see latest results before ASV if that helps.

Thank you to this forum for all the help.

RE: New User [need help with my data] - Recurve - 11-14-2017

1st night on ASV has already shown some signs of improvement. They told us not to expect instant results as it will take a week or 2 to know if it works.

Here is a Sleepyhead screenshot

Is there any settings you can see that could improve results even more but if it even stays at this lvl AHI I consider it a success. They also want mum to do another night in the hospital while on ASV I am not sure if this is to find the best settings or to monitor her heart. Is this a normal step

Wow, what an adventure. No suggestions on changing current settings of PS 2-10 over 8-22 ASVauto. Good for you sticking to your principles and advocating for mom. That's a fantastic start and amazing story.

RE: New User [need help with my data] - Recurve - 11-15-2017

Hi again,

I am unsure if I should start a new thread now mum is being treated via ASV but for now I will ask here, last night was not as good as we hoped for.  Can anyone explain with ASV what are unclassified apnoea are they centrals or obstructive?

Also are Hypopnoea something to worry about as she seems to get more on the ASV than Apap. Here is a sleepy head chart

And a closer look at the unclassified Apneoa

Any advice would be much appreciated as to was last a night still a success.
