The original name was directory and now the favorite word (synonym) is "Folder".

All the CPAP manufacturer's analysis software is only written for the Windows operating system.

Starting over with Oscar isn’t as daunting as it seems. Since you don’t have a computer background it will be the easiest option for you. Wires got crossed and it would be much easier for you to toss them aside and run new ones so to speak. After putting the current Oscar in the trash to “uninstall” it it will only take a few mins to download. Then open Oscar put you first name in the profile and fill out your equipment. That’s it. Then you’ll hopefully be up and running problem free

Open "System Preferences" Click "Security & Privacy" then select the "Privacy" tab.  In the right panel scroll down until you see Oscar.  You should have the four following entries: Removable Volumes, Downloads Folder, Documents Folder, Desktop Folder.
Make sure they all have a checkmark in the box.

I will do this when I get off work.  Thank you.

PS.  This is to prepare to uninstall or if I don't uninstall/and reinstall?

No, has to do with specific permissions needed for an app to work properly on Mac.  At some point while you were installing/using OSCAR it should have asked you if you wanted OSCAR to be able to access certain files/folders.  If that permission is not granted, OSCAR effectively cannot properly access these locations to store your data.  Should look something like this:

I know there was some confusion over which specific website you used to download OSCAR, so this time, make absolutely sure it's the official OSCAR download site at:

https://www.SleepFiles.com/OSCAR

Also, if you ever need it again, the link to that OSCAR download site is at the top of every Apnea Board forum page, in the brown menu strip, along with other links.

Ok.

Thank you everyone.

I will try to get everything sorted later tonight. Hopefully I will have last night's charts up before bed tonight. Smile

Jeff8356,

I was moving along pretty well on your instructions until I got to make sure there is a checkmark in the four entries.  First I didn't see what you were talking about.  Then I clicked on FILES AND FOLDERS in the left window.  I then saw OSCAR listed in the right pane.  Below the OSCAR logo are only 3 BOXES TO CHECK:
Removable volumes-check
Documents Folder-check
Desktop Folder-check
THE DOWNLOADS FOLDER IS NOT LISTED

I tried to find it maybe listed elsewhere.  The only other thing I see OSCAR related is if I click on FULL DISK ACCESS, I do see OSCAR with an empty checkbox to its left.  Should I check that?  There is a statement at the top of the window that talks about letting the app have access to "MAIL, MESSAGES, SAFARI, HOME, TIME MACHINE BACKUP, and certain administrative settings for all users."

Is this missing DOWNLOADS FOLDER cause for concern?

PS. On a closer look at your image, You are showing .app next to the OSCAR logo. My OSCAR logo has no .app next to it. I DID download the program from the http://www.SleepFiles.com/OSCAR site.

Eager to know.

OSCAR doesn't use the Downloads folder, it creates a folder in the Documents folder. As long as that one is checked, it should work.

Just an odd thought, which version of OSX are you using?

Thanks pholynyk.  I am using the latest version.  It just came out the other day.  Catalina 10.15.2

OK, thanks. Now I'm all out of useful questions or answers...

I have to hope an experienced Mac user comes by.

RRRRGGGHHH.

I am SOOOO confused. Dont-know Thinking-about

I just closed the permissions box after having made sure the items were checked that I was told to check.

I went to click on the application icon for OSCAR in the application folder.

IT WAS NOT THERE.  IT WAS THERE BEFORE! (JUST AFTER INSTALLING IT) I couldn't understand where the heck it went so I used my spotlight to find it.

It lists 2 OSCAR Folders, OSCAR and OSCAR DATA, and a listing for the dmg file.  The OSCAR folder is the desktop folder I created to hold my screen shots and stuff.

I clicked on the dmg file and a white window with one thing opened again.  It has the OSCAR logo in it.  I clicked on the logo and the WELCOME Screen appeared...with a box stating the last time I used my RESMED was 4 days ago, yadda, yadda, yadda.  There is a profile for me listed stating the last day of import was the 12th.

WTH

I haven't even put my SD card in the computer yet.  I was told if I delete the existing application by putting it in the trash I would be uninstalling it.

What now?  Sad

I really appreciate everyones help...please keep on helping me with this?
