RE: BiPAP new therapy - Sleeprider - 02-05-2023 Arnold was a disappointment, but in your case, I'm trying to pay you a compliment and warn against over-analysis of the Oscar charts. We use them to optimize therapy, but they are not a competition for perfection. What I am saying is that you have the knowledge and experience to manage therapy, and we are happy to guide that process. You are 98% there already and we are more like your peers than directors of your continuing therapy. Does that make sense? You don't need permission to try things, but I think you know to move conservatively and try one thing at a time. I posted my last 3 nights results. Can these results be improved or should I just be satisfied with what they are? RE: BiPAP new therapy - Sleeprider - 02-10-2023 Dan, this looks very good. If you feel you want to try PS 6.0 go ahead and give it a try, but feel free to back down to your current 5.6 if you feel any discomfort. I think the question, as usual, is how is this working for you and is there something specific you want to improve? Did you ever think you would regularly score under 1.0 AHI? My lack of knowledge of the whole sleep apnea thing is what is driving me. For example, I thought the results I posted today were not that good!!! I do see a small improvement with Flow Limitation. Based on your comment, I think increasing PS is relevant to decreasing FL. As far as how I feel, I think on average it is very slowly getting better. Part of my appreciation comes from the progress of some parameters measured by Oscar. It is very hard for me to describe how I feel from one night to the other except in rare cases where it is really bad or good. If you want to see my statistics, the screenshot should show up with this link. https://drive.google.com/file/d/182Wpl0ZPBZHTfS3pefDGa2c8_Y8XxC2k/view?usp=share_link Since I believe I have nothing to lose, I will try the increase with PS and come back. Quote: Did you ever think you would regularly score under 1.0 AHI? If I am honest, it never crossed my mind whether I would succeed or not. I just kept fighting. But I can acknowledge I made progress there with your help My interpretation of your question is that I should be happy with a score under 1.0 AHI. RE: BiPAP new therapy - Gideon - 02-10-2023 All I can say is well done. Very few users achieve the numbers that you are consistently achieving. I'm sure any member here would be extremely happy with your results. I'd keep your current settings for likely at least 5+ years which is what I have done for myself. Yes I do watch them but it is only a brief glance occasionally. RE: BiPAP new therapy - Sleeprider - 02-10-2023 I do agree with Gideon and am reluctant to suggest the PS 6, but it's up to you to try and reject if you choose. This therapy is typical of optimized therapy and if you ever want to remember why you got the Vauto, give your CPAP a try for a while. I think that would be all you need to see just how far you've come. RE: BiPAP new therapy - quiescence at last - 02-10-2023 being the REM and dream guy, it looks like you are getting healthy amount of REM and probably wake some remembering bits of your dreams. That's another benefit you get that others working the same problems have not, or they would be happier. I can point to a couple places that seem to match REM in your postings. Just private message me or ask via this thread. I did notice that I started to remember dreams. This bit started before I change the CPAP for a BiPAP at the beginning of January. The length of my sessions has also steadily increased. I am interested in finding how to identify REM in my sleep if possible. If you have information on that subject, I would be very grateful if you would share.
